“...Sorry, but the pubbies should have pulled a Torricelli on Mr. Gianforte. The GOP doesn’t need anymore bad press- they already get it 24/7 as it is....”

Naaa. Since they’re getting bad press 24/7 anyway, what’s body slamming a few reporters around gonna do...nothing. Bad press no matter what...so body slam a few just for chits and giggles. The People love it.

The Republican got 50% of the vote, the Democrat 44%. So it wasn’t just a win, it was a substantial win.

Don’t fool yourself, Ryan will try his level best to KEEP Gianforte from being seated in Congress, apology or not. And even if he does get seated, any positions of influence will elude Gianforte for some time to come.

Not since Jesse Ventura have we had such an assertive political figure.

I would advise you to disregard any polling coming from the failed pollsters of the mainstream media, which, once again, were a mile off the real winning result!!!

A Google poll actually had Quist ahead in 5-21

RealClearPolitics points to three polls, all from Gravis, conducted in late April, early May and last week. Gianforte was leading in all of three, though the size of his edge varied. In April, Gianforte was polling with 52 percent support to Quist's 39 percent. By early May, his lead had dropped to eight points, but it recently rebounded to 14.

Other surveys had varying results. For example, an Emerson College poll from April also showed voters preferred Gianforte by a margin 52 to 37 percent. But another poll conducted by the Democratic Senate Majority PAC showed the gap at just six percent, according to Roll Call. And at least one Google Survey poll had Quist ahead. - http://www.newsweek.com/montana-special-election-polls-gianforte-quist-615447

As I read the story more closely, it appears that the reporter broke into Mr. Gianforte’s office. The “self-defense” exhibited by Mr. Gianforte seems warranted.

“When is the GOP Congress going to realize that they and Trump could grind the Democrats into dust if they’d just get behind the President and start implementing his agenda, working to make America great again?”

The do realize it, they just don’t want it to happen.

L

They have had the power to be great for decades now, along with the support of the people.

Unfortunately, once they go to DC, they are surrounded by a sea of negativity with a news media that reports dishonestly to create the impression that the American people are appalled by everything they do. So they back down on the very ideas that we elected them for. Some of them are intimidated; others, I think, actually develop Stockholm syndrome.

I think it would be a great idea to have our politicians remain in their home districts once elected. With video teleconferencing, there is very little need for them to actually go to DC to conduct business. That way, they would be somewhat insulated from the toxic DC environment. We citizens could also send them letters of support--the idea here is that they would hear how we feel and think directly from us, not from the twisted WaPo. That could make them braver about standing up for what is right, instead of crumbling and kowtowing every time the DC establishment criticizes them.

What you state is true, but the GOP has become a wholly owned subsidiary of the America-last Chamber of Commerce and Low Wages.

I think that is largely a result of the factors I described in my previous post. Do they ever say that stuff in their campaigns for election, or are those policies that they pick up once they move into the swamp?

I don't recall anyone campaigning on a platform of opening the borders, allowing employers to avoid paying taxes and benefits by hiring cheap illegals and paying them under the table, etc. Our elected officials only support that stuff once they get into Washington. They are bullied and develop Stockholm syndrome, which causes them to support the causes and viewpoints of the bullies.

I wonder how many Californians that claim Montana residence voted in this election? Liberals that have residency in multiple states, IMHO, big problem for voter integrity.
