Republican Greg Gianforte muscled his way to victory in Montana, overcoming a challenge from Democrat Rob Quist and an election-eve scuffle with a reporter that led to criminal charges being filed against him.

With 83 percent of the precincts counted, Mr. Gianforte led Mr. Quist by a 50.3 percent to 43.9 percent margin. Libertarian Mark Wicks had 5.8 percent of the vote.

Undefeated in this year’s special congressional races after the election of President Trump, Republicans will now hold a 239-193 majority in the House.

During the campaign, Mr. Gianforte embraced Mr. Trump, who won the state by more than 20 percentage points in the November election.

Finally a Republican with a set of balls that is willing to lay it on the line for America. Screw the rude liberal schmoes that think they can push us around.

A good win-not big. I would have liked to have seen a younger manly-man or a looker female. That congressional seat should be a stepping stone to the senate and this guy is too foliclly challenged + old.

Did the Democrat concede?

Or is he going to call for ‘recounts’? just wondering.

I truly believe that reporter set that incident up last night with help from liberals that was pouring money and protesters into that Montana race..and hopefully it will be proven and the charges dropped...

The winner is a millionaire, so of course the courts will fine him, bigly..so be it...time to move on...because we know just how losing democrats work...follow the Clinton's and learn...they are pro’s.

You called this winner tonight, an old person?

Damn man, look at the ages of the Congress members..This man, Greg Gianforte just turned 56 yrs old...born in 1961 the same year I married my husband and we don't classify our marriage as OLD...wake up fruitcake..

This Montana winners acceptance speech was excellent, well stated and the man is a worker, with success behind him...I think he will do an excellent job in Washington..

(a member by name of John McCain in Congress rolls over to 81 in Aug..that is OLD. hope you go and do some research on ages)

What I don’t understand, is how Quist became such a libtard. He was raised on a ranch in Montana, played sports in high school, small rural town, etc. How did he go from that to pro-abortion, pro-Obamacare, pro-libtard everything, though I couldn’t find his position on 2A. Was it drugs? Is he a sodomite still in the closet? Perhaps he isn’t a Christian?

At least he lost, but it was too close! Montana sure has become Californicated! It makes me sad. I spent two summers there many decades ago as a youth, staying with some relatives in the foothills of the Galatin Range. It really was heaven on earth for me and played an important part in developing who I am; spending weeks up in the mountains, working on a small ranch, learned to shoot and hunt. Now...last time I went through that area, about 20 years ago, I could barely recognize it. So many people! Lots of B&B’s and ‘dude ranches’, lots of athletic types seen running or bicycling everywhere, and it had a California ‘vibe’.

In 1996 I drove with my boys through Montana. We stopped at a restaurant known for Rockey Mountain Oysters. We didn’t indulge, but there should be Puny Dem Oysters offered out there....
