Gianforte Taps Out Quist In Montana Special Election
washingtontimes.com ^ | May 25, 2017

Republican Greg Gianforte muscled his way to victory in Montana, overcoming a challenge from Democrat Rob Quist and an election-eve scuffle with a reporter that led to criminal charges being filed against him.

With 83 percent of the precincts counted, Mr. Gianforte led Mr. Quist by a 50.3 percent to 43.9 percent margin. Libertarian Mark Wicks had 5.8 percent of the vote.

Undefeated in this year’s special congressional races after the election of President Trump, Republicans will now hold a 239-193 majority in the House.

During the campaign, Mr. Gianforte embraced Mr. Trump, who won the state by more than 20 percentage points in the November election.

Republicans need to stop SCHEDULED Town Hall meetings. They are now traps. Meetings with constituents need to be spontaneous. Show up and Set up at a diner, mall, shopping center.

Trump should also cut back on the daily press briefings. Don’t end them. Make them MWF. Start them with a list of Administration accomplishments and a rebutall of negative FAKE news stories. Do NOT engage in too much back and forth. Short answers to hostile questions. Long answers to beneficial questions.

Was this a pickup for the GOP or did they just retain the seat?

Was Gianforte the pol that See-BS Snooze was trying to smear on Thur evening regarding the physical contact with the reporter? (channel surfing - caught the report a bit late)

There are plenty of age-ists on FR. Whenever some guy gets angry at me, he starts calling me old. I’m not but they look up my start date. As I say, I joined up in between selling my Girl Scout cookies.

“What I don’t understand, is how Quist became such a libtard.”

Mental illness can happen to anyone. Isn’t that what they always tell us?

Shows how weak the deep state media is now.
They still have a bark, but their bite is gone.

I think that people look at these media types with more contempt than ever and a body slam or more is what a lot of people would like to do to leftist reporters.

The DEM's will claim victory based on the margin, and continue to manufacture outrage. More popcorn!

“That congressional seat should be a stepping stone to the senate”

Maybe not senator, but maybe a Trump press secretary.

I had to laugh at the way the Washington Post is spinning this “well... it’s STILL a win because the Republicans had to spend money they didn’t intend to spin...” or “well, it’s STILL good news because we came closer than we thought we’d come...”

On the other hand, if the RAT folk singer had won, they would be proclaiming his win as the end of Donald Trump’s Presidency, and demanding Trump resign now because “the people have spoken.”

Excellent points! First thing to note is that this guy did not try to hide from Trump...and like the 2016 election, the Republicans who DID NOT run from Trump did much better than those who did run, as our only 2 Senate losses were from NeverTrumpers,

Then, yes, Trump’s people should set up a parallel operation (assuming that the RNC even has one) to teach Trump candidates how to handle both the left and the RNC themselves...both having the same goals. Newcomers have no clue just how nasty these races become and they need to be ready.

A good win-not big. I would have liked to have seen a younger manly-man or a looker female. That congressional seat should be a stepping stone to the senate and this guy is too foliclly challenged + old.

_______________

A 7-point win in an under-populated state with tons of outside money, much bravado and a set-up *assault* is not big? Especially when most of the population live in three liberal cities and the countryside has been slowly bought up by billionaires? Sorry, that’s called a WIN.

Gianforte is very masculine. Bull-necked, bullet-headed and with the balls to finally react against a crybully journo who asked for a beatdown. Male pattern baldness is actually a signal of testosterone. He’s only 56. Maturity is not senescence. He exudes confidence, while his opponent, ten years younger, exuded smarmy over-confidence.

Montana is a 2018 Senate target and we’ll have to see how that goes. This, however, was a solid win and should be celebrated. Gianforte supports Trump. The Dems have nothing to cheer about, but I’m sure they’ll find something.

With 100% of precincts counted, he wins 50% to 44% for the Democrat.

This proves that the way for Republicans to WIN against Democrats is to grab them by the throat and body slam them.

“When is the GOP Congress going to realize that they and Trump could grind the Democrats into dust if they’d just get behind the President and start implementing his agenda, working to make America great again?”

The do realize it, they just don’t want it to happen.
