Church bans yoga from premises because it’s ‘non-Christian’
Metro UK ^ | May 10th 2017 | Rob Waugh

Villagers say they’ll boycott St David’s Church, in Blaenporth, Ceredigion, Wales, in protest.

Church bosses say pilates is OK, but not yoga, which ‘might be seen to be in conflict with Christian values and belief’.

Freepers like to run with things

I’m not surprised you’re reasonable

I am a quarter century intimately familiar with Yoga

This demonization as not Christian is like banning dancing

Here in Nashville a lot yoga is advertised as Christian yoga and taught by
Christian women with prayer

And the more traditional yoga studios are not the least bit promoting Hinduism

But Wardaddy it started as a non Christian thingie

Well so did Christmas trees and All Saints Day timing wise and prolly Easter eggs

Let’s all be Jehovahs Witnesses shall we

“The church is correct - yoga is a Hindu practice. “

True. It was injected into our culture and schools on purpose for New Age irrational religion. You can never dispose of a belief system like Christianity without replacing it with something else. Nietzsche explained that huge fact which led to Stalin and Mao, Hitler and Pot, etc.

We are conditioning our children to become gods, like Mormonism-—and teach them that “Hate” is evil. Well, as ALL good Christians KNOW—there is a place for righteous anger. You direct ALL your passions to the good—you don’t suppress them like in Asian cultures which is dehumanization.

For return to the Old World pagan Order (the misnamed NWO), you need to erase the rational worldview of Christianity (Natural Law/Objective Truth, One God) for the paganism of old, with lots of irrational vile gods and radical egalitarianism where self is totally annihilated for One Mind (collective) worldview. No free will, no ability to have agency or identity apart from the collective. Socialism, communism, progressivism, yoga is to destroy the individual for the collective where anyone who thinks with a different worldview will be eliminated some way. The total annihilation of self for One Mind Think.

Our Constitution is about INDIVIDUAL Natural Rights from the ONLY God—Christian one. That is the basis of our Rule of Law which is never Rule of Man, like it is now. We have discarded our legal system for satanism (Vice System) where people can be their own gods (moral relativism) and discard the Bible, which will create total chaos until the few psychopathic sodomites will clamp down like Mao and Pot and Stalin and Lenin, and Hitler, etc.

Removing Right Reason and Individualism will collapse Western Civilization and the Marxists know that, and so they have been Red Pilling our children on purpose to destroy the Christian Worldview totally. Hyper-sexualization of the culture has helped considerably to create emotionally unhealthy children so they are easily controlled and emasculated and are embedded with dependency on the State.

I don’t go with the “it’s just stretching exercise!” excuses. As one Hindu yogi has observed, it would be the same as him getting baptized because he needed to bathe.
It’s not as if there weren’t thousands of non-Hindu exercise and/or stretching programs to utilize instead.

Do you think kids trick-or-treating means they're worshiping Satan, too?

Meh - not to worry about the yogurt:

I didn’t even know trick or treats was a *prescribed religious practice* in Satan-worship.

Thats just plain ignorance

Like fearing witches in stupid pubescent girls cavorting in the woods

Yoga and practicing occult black magic are not remotely the same thing

Any of you scolds been to yoga and been tempted by dark spirits

Or is this just a hunch

Whats your actual experience wit a yoga class

That’s what they are called.... classes

And they have different skill levels

The only Indian words I’ve ever heard are on occasion the Indian name for a pose and the salutation word namaste or something like that

Christian yoga doesn’t use the word namaste but rather something else which escapes me

Namaste is a greeting to another persons essence or soul...a salutation of respect

What’s black magic about that?

Yoga is about breathing foremost and then muscle stretching and joint manipulation which really in the end results in endorphin release like any serious excercise

And high level yoga is serious....

And sweat....lots of sweat..tons of it

Mats soaked especially in hot yoga

That - and because people have a spiritual need they often embrace something that is presented as exotic and promises to make them enlightened beings. And they’ll go for it, provided it’s not Judaeo-Christian.

I didn’t know stretching was against God either. We’re both learning things today.

I suppose it’s not threatening if you don’t mind practicing Hindu religious rituals. Or praying to Allah.

Oh please. My American instructors are all Christian who know little about Hindu stuff. One is a recovering drug addict who plays 70s music during the yoga, and sometimes plays his own songs on guitar. He just says "Namaste" at the end. It's basically a workout. No Hindu gods or demons or whatever are even mentioned.

Does that Bible text also apply to "gas station nacho cheese", as discussed in this story posted on FR yesterday?

L I’ll B. I studied world religions in college and studied Hindu, but never knew Yogi was Hindu. All I knew was that he slept till noon, but before it was dark, had every picnic basket in Jellystone park.

It isn’t - practicing Hindu religious ritual is, tho. If a person can’t figure out how to stretch even just all by his lonesome, well, I’m thinking he’s prob not hittin’ on all cylinders.

You are correct wardaddy.

I’ve been doing yoga for years and I’d call it the perfect exercise along with martial arts and walking.

I am very Christian and there has been no conflict whatsoever, at least with the teachers I’ve had.

I’m sure some individual teachers might present a problem, but that’s where our discernment should kick in.
