Embattled White House spokesman Sean Spicer may be getting less face time on TV following a shipwreck of a performance defending President Trump’s decision to fire the FBI chief, a new report said Wednesday.
A CNN reporter, citing sources, said high level administration officials — including Trump himself — were evaluating whether to replace Spicer with his backup, Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
“WH sources: Highest levels incl. POTUS evaluating Sanders subbing for Spicer in briefing room. Last night an ‘embarrassment.. disaster,’ reporter Jim Acosta tweeted.
Sanders handled Wednesday’s press briefing with aplomb, and will conduct briefings through the end of the week, the White House said.
The switch followed a disastrous impromptu news conference outside the White House Tuesday night in which Spicer hid behind some bushes until TV cameramen turned out their lights and agreed not to take video of the briefing.

Perhaps he was standing behind some trees or what have you, but they way they describe it, it’s like he was crouched down behind some small bushes, waiting for everyone to leave, like some kids playing Hide and Go Seek.

Sean Spicer has what it takes. Good pick by Trump. Spicer can take the snowfake media on no sweat and enjoy it. Trump and his people have my 100% support and prayers.

Me too! I work from home and routinely turn on the t.v. around 1 p.m., waiting for the daily press briefing from Mr. Spicer. Never watched these things before.
Would be interesting to get ratings on this...

From Spicer’s very first press conference, Jim Acosta’s asked him non-stop aggressive, hostile questions. He’s one of the worst, most partisan hacks of an already bad, heavily biased lot. He doesn’t even make a feeble attempt to keep his personal feelings out of his questioning.

I think he has to be patient. Can you imagine what would happen if he lost his temper (as I probably would in that viper pit, LOL!)?

I think more problematic than Spicey’s performance would, if true, be that they kept the firing from Priebs and Spicey to keep it from being leaked.
Agree. It’s a crap job at best, and he’s doing it as well as can be expected. Does he look unprepared sometimes, sure - who doesn’t? You don’t replace people for that, you might want to spend more time getting prepared next time, is all.
I'd love to see her replace Spicer.
