Hamon and Cazeneuve have both urged a vote for Macron plus the French Foreign Minister Ayrault is urging a vote for Macron, as well. This is the usual situation of all the other parties plus the government urging a vote against Le Pen.
Exacly, she did not do as well as she should have. This does not bode well. We don’t get even a door prize for coming in second. She was polling around 26% in first place. Lets hope she can attract some others for the final round. If not France is lost for another 6 years.
Macron is much farther to the left than Paul Ryan. In comparison, he makes Ryan seem like a flaming right-winger. Macron is a centrist in European terms, which means he’s a little to the left of Hillary Clinton.
I’m calling this, ‘The Trump Effect.’
The world is waking up! Hurrah!
*TRUMP BUMP*
Fillion (nice suit!) has just dropped out and endorsed Macron.
FN is extremist, violent, will take France out of the EU etc. etc.
I am amazed that any conservative would be taken in by this fake.
That's how I felt about newspapers before I quit being able to read them... It's how I'm starting to feel about Sunday "News" shows...I can hardly watch them anymore.
Balki Bartokomous (Perfect Strangers) lives!
From what I've seen, this guy is a far-left commie type. Centrist, my freckly butt.
French exit polls point to showdown between right-wing firebrand and unconventional centrist
Shock waves? This was pretty common knowledge for quite a while. Congrats to her. Now the tough part.
Yes, I saw that too. He is just the latest. I wonder if any other candidate will endorse Le Pen? The united political opposition, plus the French government’s opposition to the National Front will make the second round a probable cakewalk for Macron.
Agreed. I have observed the accounts posted on FR of the awful unlivable situation in Marseilles, France. It has become an enclave of a caliphate. Still more stories of the arondissments (divisions within a city). The original inhabitants have lost any semblance of control. This in Paris itself. Police and Firemen attacked on entry to do their duty.
I can only assume that a large portion of French people live in - as yet pristine districts of small cities/villages. For surely if human nature is, as I believe it is, they would flock to Le Pen's side. They must think they live in a vacuum and only others have to face the problems caused. (IMHO)
Not many Americans know that Lafayette was like a son to George Washington. George Washington was childless. His wife Martha had two children, but one, a daughter, passed on while a teenager from a stroke or choking fit while eating dinner. Washington witnessed the death, and he could not save her. It stayed in his broken heart forever!!!
Lafayette was a teenager when he arrived in America and left America at the end of the Revolutionary War as the youngest General (23 years old)in the Army of Revolution!!! Washington treated him as his own son and was devastated when Lafayette went back to his family in France. Lafayette was strong and powerful leader, general and support of Washington and the American nation!!!
LAFAYETTE.....you put your life on the line for this great American nation...and now we salute & support both you General, Lafayette & Marine La Penne in her great victory today and the one she will win two weeks hence!!! Freedom, Liberty, Equality lives once again in France!!! God bless the French people and their nation!!!
...
Bravo to a man who knows his history...Marque de Lafayette indeed may be as important as Washington in saving this nation. I used to have a Layfayette commemorative dollar and rue the day I sold it.
Likely you are correct, think I read that Hussein Ohomo supports him.
Lafayette is held in high regard here in NC, I’ve always been proud to share a birthday with him. The first town in the United States named for him was Fayetteville, NC.
I had a wonderful lady friend here in the DC area who had journo friends. She was kind of shocked that I didn’t want to be anywhere near any of them.
Per AP Lepen 24.9
Macron 21.1
This election and the play-off will show that Le Pen is mightier than Le Hordes.
Vive Madame Le Pen!
Leni
WHOA! If she pulls this off, I might finally visit Paris.
