Youve been snookered, folks. By that poor elderly doctor who was involuntarily dragged from his seat, had his face smashed in, and was beaten unconscious by the evil airport security at the behest of United Airlines.
Because theres no evidence any of that was true. It was in fact a premeditated temper tantrum gone viral, featuring one 69-year-old Vietnamese-American David Dao, a medical doctor whod lost his license, planning a lawsuit from the moment United first politely asked him to give up his seat. He demanded to be dragged and, when police obliged, struck his lip on an armrest. From the many videos taken by numerous passengers, from numerous angles, theres no evidence of a beating, a serious concussion, or bodily damage beyond that lip.
Although some like the Huffington Post want us to ignore his sordid past as inconsequential or blaming the victim, its important that Dao in 1995 was charged with 98 felony drug counts for illegally prescribing and trafficking painkillers, sometimes in exchange for homosexual sex. (Hes married. To a woman.) That normally would get you identified as unreliable. He surrendered his medical license and even now is allowed to practice internal medicine only in an outpatient facility one day a week.

I agree. United was wrong.
The most crucial piece of information is weather the man’s wife and/or other members of his family was also on that plane. I’ve heard she was, but haven’t verified it.
I’ve also heard only he was selected to leave and not his wife. I would have problems with splitting a family like that. It would be a real headache on the other end.
LOL! Nobody took? That’s a tell, as they say.
Lots more airlines out there for me to get beat by!.....................
Read the back of your ticket
If it's "sheeple" to expect to receive a service one has paid for than BAAAAAAA!
Your corporate overlords applaud your fealty.
So, he is unlicensed but can still practice one day a week at a specific site? Does not compute...
"In the event we decide to not provide a service you have already paid for, and we outright lie about why we are not providing it, you are subject to physical assault"
In a conversation I had on another thread I pointed out that people are making excuses for United that even United won't make. People are trying to say that Dao resisted arrest, and I have pointed out that he didn't do anything unlawful, and he was not told "You're under arrest." Even now, to the best of my knowledge, no law enforcement agency is considering any criminal charges against Dao.
This is definitely a situation where both parties are guilty.
The guy is a quick thinking scam artist taking advantage of the opportunity to make a quick million.
The company is stupid for having such a moronic policy.
Both should be punished to some extent.
I predict Dao will get a nice little chunk of money, then he’ll lose it after being sued by other men for sexual harassment.
or demoncrats not talking about findings of intel chair Nunes i.e govt spying and instead going after him
“pardon me if I fail to properly genuflect before our corporate masters.”
This post right here sums up the WHOLE thing.
Security was called to demand someone leave a plane so that employees could take it instead. End of argument.
If they approached him with a bribe, like the money and hotel room, and he doesn’t accept then that’s the end of the conversation.
He was a paying customer on United and was unseated for one of their own.
The guy chose to throw a tantrum.
That was a gamble (his reputation vs. a huge potential payoff), but one that he was willing to take.
Well, I for one, got hell for even suggesting what this author wrote.

Me too. I suggested from the get go there was very little difference between what this doctor did and what your average unruly drunk has done to get forcibly ejected from a plane.
Sorry United, you buy a seat in advance and you should get that seat. Anything else is pure fraud.
His felony conviction will be used to impeach his credibility if the case goes to trial and he testifies.
It was in fact a premeditated temper tantrum gone viral,

Now while I’ve always been quick to blame the doctor here, and reluctant to place much blame on United; I do think this is a stretch.
A premeditated temper tantrum? They are suggesting that this guy pre-planned this beatdown before it happened? That instead of taking the offers others took, he would create a scene and get roughed up?
Bull Cheese.
This guy just didn’t think at all. He acted stupidly. On the spur of the moment. With no premeditation. On impulse.
And anyone who says they would have done the same thing would deserve the beating and the humiliation this doctor got.
It will never go to trial. It will never get close to trial. United quickly realized the PR fiasco they started & they are not eager to prolong or revisit it.
I’m a little slow, which side is the “sheeple”?
