President Trump cancels sexual orientation questions on 2020 Census

The Trump administration canceled plans to probe Americans for their sexual orientation in the 2020 Census, nixing efforts by congressional Democrats who’d wanted a better picture of the country’s increasingly complex family and sexual dynamics.

Gay-rights advocates had been pressing for the questions, saying it was time the country got an official count.

I thought gays and queers wanted us to treat them like every other U.S. citizen. If I have to “keep my laws off their body” then these perverts need to keep their nose out of other people’s sex lives.

The libs have been trying to separate the people using sexual persuasion for years. It isn’t that I like or dislike the people who practice alternate sex acts, it’s that while in their bedroom and I don’t know, that’s the way it should be. Keep it there, and it’s none of anyone’s business. So if the libs wish to use it as a weapon against others, they are the wrong ones not the people who wish to remain within their own privacy.

Another topic like this is ethnicity and their efforts to separate us into categories based upon where our ancestors were from. I don’t care. I’m an American Indian. I was born here, a citizen only from here, so I am native to North America making me indigenous.

The 1850 census asked sex, color, age, place of birth (state or foreign country). The 1880 census also asked father's place of birth and mother's place of birth. That information is useful for genealogical research so I would keep those questions in 2020. Besides that perhaps ask of those not born in the US their citizenship status (alien or naturalized).

The sexual orientation question has no business being asked...and anyway the number of people who would admit to being homosexual would be lower than the real number (since people would not trust the government to keep the information confidential).

I’d like to see the questions about how well FedGov is dividing us gone.

Are you African-American, Scottish-American, Non-Pacific White Islander, Non_Black Hispanic, Icelandic-Italian-American, etc.

Usually only 3 or 4 percent answer “American”, which shows how hard they have worked to stop us from being united.

No you are not obligated to answer. I received the long form one year and sent it back with the number of people in my household. Weeks later, census workers came by and threatened me with prosecution for not answering. I repeated the number of residents in the home and even told them how many were of voting age, and declined to answer further. That was the last I heard of it, despite their threats. It’s beyond intrusive—and it’s none of their business. I don’t need the feds in my bathroom or bedroom. Next thing, they will be checking your showers for the water restrictors.

That is their intent. They are just looking for the "right" people.

It is like common sense is making a comeback. Everything Trump is rescinding just reminds me what extremist radicals Democrat politicians are. They love their socialism and control. It is nice to have a president who trusts the people.

Legally, I’m sure there’s a difference between refusing to answer it and deliberately answering it incorrectly.

“Are you now or have you ever been a homosexual?”

“Do you believe you can, thru ‘wishing & hoping’, change your God given DNA, XY or XX chromosomes?”

I fear the indoctrination is so deep, the results would be quite disappointing to us normals.

The census needs to be limited to what it was originally.

Number of citizens in household and “others”. “iin such Manner as they shall by Law direct.”

I don’t see anything about what OTHER information they can collect. The MANNER is HOW the information is collected not WHAT information is collected.

I’m sure some pettifogging lawyer can parse and pencil whip this into as many other things as anyone can think of.

Article I, Clause 3

Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. The number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative; and until such enumeration shall be made, the State of New Hampshire shall be entitled to chuse [sic] three, Massachusetts eight, Rhode-Island and Providence Plantations one, Connecticut five, New-York six, New Jersey four, Pennsylvania eight, Delaware one, Maryland six, Virginia ten, North Carolina five, South Carolina five, and Georgia three.

That is all that is allowed under Article I, Clause 3 of the Constitution.

The only discretion in the census is the MANNER by which this information is collected.

Be hopeful but wary and not expectant.

There are way too many fools for common sense to make a comback anytime soon.
