The Republican fails to comprehend that if Trump goes down in any way, they will be finished as a party. They will lose Congress in one of those massive landslides, and they will never win the White House again. Their only hope is to support Trump and do what needs to be done for the benefit of the American people. If they can't do that, there will only be two choices: Submit to Democrat authoritarianism, or civil war.

The Senate can refuse to seat him, highly unlikely. South Carolina cannot recall him. He was reelected in 2014, so primarying him can’t happen until 2020. Not too many options beyond forcing him to resign.
