Socialism’s Rising Popularity Threatens America’s Future

Too many of us have forgotten the lessons of the Cold War.

Headlines about “the end of the republic” litter political commentary across the political landscape. They usually mark the beginning of a discussion of the merits of Donald Trump as president of the United States, but his ascendency is not the leading sign of a collapse of American society. For that, see a recent poll indicating a tectonic shift occurring in the political preferences of U.S. adults. When you consider current trends in cultural norms and widely held beliefs, you will see that we are headed toward the end of the American experiment.

The American Culture and Faith Institute recently conducted a survey of adults 18 and older. It shows not only how deeply divided Americans are on some issues but also how their view of the nation stands in many cases in stark contrast to our nation’s founding principles. Most Americans (58 percent) see themselves as politically moderate, while a quarter identify as conservative, and 17 percent as liberal. Those who were both socially and fiscally conservative, the group tracked by the ACFI in greatest detail, were 6 percent of the population.

But those differences don’t reveal the greatest divide and danger to America’s future. “The most alarming result, according to [George] Barna, was that four out of every ten adults say they prefer socialism to capitalism,” the ACFI noted in its commentary on the poll. “That is a large minority,” Barna said, “and it includes a majority of the liberals — who will be pushing for a completely different economic model to dominate our nation. That is the stuff of civil wars. It ought to set off alarm bells among more traditionally-oriented leaders across the nation.’”

People have always been selfish, wanting stuff for free or from others. Obama, on a Biblical scale, tried to make this dominate in American culture and politics. Letting people turn into sloths from marijuana will only enhance socialism.

Poor snowflakes don't even know their parents, grandparents and great-grandparents voted all the promisers of goodies and freebies into office over the last 5 or 6 decades and now they will pay the price.

If it's even possible to pay a 200 trillion dollar unfunded liability.

Text books and schools are teaching about the evils of capitalism, and have been since the socialists gained power in the social revolution of the 60’s and 70’s and as they began to infiltrate schools, churches and government. They have done an amazing job promoting socialism right under our noses. We have allowed it to happen, but what can be dome to correct the problem?

That's because we threw our kids and grandkids into public schools and expected some disinterested third party to care for their education.

We thought they were being taught how to read and write and do arithmetic when they were actually being taught how to be good little Socialists.

Sometimes I flirt with the idea that the world might be better if Reagan had worked to moderate and preserve the Soviet Union instead outright defeating it.

With no Soviet Union, western socialists seem to have flourished. And wouldn’t we all rather still have Sovet troops in Afghanistan?

It’s all hindsight of course and Reagan couldn’t have known that muzzies are worse than Soviets. But sometimes I think about this.

'We' haven't done a very good job of using or promoting capitalism. The actions of corporations and .gov is not one of promoting capitalism, but merely those who have connections do well and such.

Yet, people will still defend capitalism, when of course it's not what we practice today.

The “benefits” of socialism and Communism are taught from the Ivy League to the local community college. A generation has been taught a lie, and they now believe it.

The answer is easy, All institutions of higher learning shall require All Students to spend 90 consecutive days in a Socialist Country like Cuba or Venezuela before enrollment, Those Institutions that do not comply shall not receive any Federal Funding or Accredidation.

Yes it was. And Brahmins like FDR used it as a power base. Like anti capitalism billionaires are doing today.....think Soros, Buffet, Peter Lewis of Progressive insurance.

They can make fortunes but not you or I.

Check out the last days of the Roman Republic and compare it to what is happening in this Republic. Also, what we are seeing is the fruits of the government’s Department of Education (Common Core) feeding propaganda to our kids.

Hoping at some point our dear conservatives begin to understand that a lopsided practice of Christianity gave rise to an acceptance of secular socialism. That this is what happens when a faith promises charity and then fails to deliver it.
