Saw this press conference. AG Sessions has decided to recuse himself "from any investigations related to the Trump campaign".
I felt it was a very weak performance by AG Sessions, by the way.
Perhaps bc he had just taken a reaming by Trump?
The joint meeting with the Senators is obviously a nothingburger that Sen. McCowskank (D., MOO) weirdly insisted on doing the harakiri this morning (Show Me State, plz) - yet the second, private meeting, to not disclose? Why? The optix are just bad.
Exactly!!! I’m sick of all this Russian BS! Put an end to it!! Stop playing around with the Dimwits pretending that there is something there!!
Sessions seemed weak, unsure of himself, and on defense the entire time.
Jeff Sessions is a fine man. He is a good man. He is a decent man. I like him a lot. That said, I was surprised he was chosen for AG. I had thought it would be Christie (who would get it in exchange for losing VP) or Giuliani. Both of them would have handled this press conference better.
If this is the guy we are hoping to prosecute pedophiles, Podesta, Soros, Hillary, and the traitors......we are screwed.
The Democrats expect us to play by the rules and then act like Lucy with the football when they are in power. Republicans never learn.
LMAO. I can always depend on you for a laugh at just the right time, Laz.
He has recused himself from any investigation of the Trump Campaign.
Hillary is still open season and she is not making any friends.
oh they will delay knowing that they will now be in charge of the Russia investigation till Sessions gets all of his staff.
Perhaps he really felt his presence would be a distraction. If do, he may have been right in this case, but backing down to these jackels and hyaenas in the long run is suicidal.
1. His meetings w/ the Russians was in relation to his duties as a senator and therefore entirely justified. This creates the precedence that anyone anywhere that has met w/ the Russians is suspect and must withdraw from decision making capacities.
2. This is now the second scalp claimed by the spurious idea of Russian "influence". To expect that Trump can now put this fictitious charge behind him is dangerously naive because #3
3. The Obama appointee that will now take over the investigation will almost assuredly appoint a Special Prosecuter w/ unlimited powers that will stay in force for the entirety of the Trump administration. This will create untold headwinds and a vast playground for the deep state to thwart any progress towards dismantling the bureaucratic quagmire Trump was elected to eliminate.
Our opponents in this fight will use everything and anything to tear Trumpism down. We must understand this and the fight only gets harder after this foolish capitulation.
It occurs to me that instead of playing defense, the administration should be spending time firing a bunch of people. We should see Pennsylvania Avenue lined with people carrying cardboard boxes..
And that most definitely means corralling the "mavericks" in congress that view their face time on TV as more important than the American people!

H/t Alberta’s child
Also, at his interview, he said that he’d recuse himself.
So why did this come up now?
IMHO the dems brought it up to take away from President Trump’s awesome speech.
The deputy that’s in there now can make a fool of himself by trying to investigate something that doesn’t exist.
Then when the new deputy comes in, he can get down to business investigating real crimes.
Question to Alberta’s child:
Can the deputy that’s in there now be tossed?
(Especially if he makes a fool of himself ...)
Since when does a deputy AG have the authority to appoint a Special Prosecutor? The Independent Counsel statute expired in 1999.
That’s exactly why the Democrats and their media partner me ran with this story. And the next time Trump gives a magnificent performance on national TV it will happen again. Get used to it. This is how losers operate.
What was the 6 years of Plamegate but an open ended witch hunt?
Trump needs to go nuclear.
NOW.
The deputy AG is actually the ACTING deputy AG ... so his tenure is likely to be temporary anyway.
Trump can do whatever he needs to do. But his AG cannot be involved in overt political maneuverings. He’s a lawyer first, and a political figure second.
