Judge blocks deportation of detainees over Trump refugee order
The Hill ^ | 1/28/17 | BROOKE SEIPEL

The federal court for the Eastern District of New York has issued an emergency stay halting President Trump's executive order banning immigrants from seven Muslim-majority countries from entering the U.S, The Verge reported Saturday night.

The court ruled on a habeas corpus petition filed by the ACLU on behalf of two Iraqi men who were detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Friday after Trump's ban.

Since then both men, Hameed Khalid Darweesh and Sameer Abdulkhaleq Alshaw, have reportedly been granted entry to the U.S.

Trump's order handed down Friday bars Syrian refugees indefinitely and halts the resettlement of all refugees for four months for the administration to review the vetting process.

Admission will resume only after vetting has been deemed "adequate" by the secretary of State, the secretary of Homeland Security and Director of National Intelligence.

The order also denies entry for 90 days for individuals from seven predominantly Muslims countries: Iraq, Iran, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Libya and Yemen.

This entire little affair sounds like a setup.

I'm betting that Obama's thugs in ICE were told to go after anything that looks like a possibility for court.

The administration needs to ignore the judge’s stay. And by the way, just where did these “spontaneous” protesters come from and who do you reckon is paying them? Rhetorical. Soros and his subversive organizations need to be gotten rid of.

The judge is unconstitutionally interfering with te war powers of the president.

He should be removed from the bench or ignored. The ACLU needs to be suppressed as a subversive organization.

Sounds like a setup. Brooklyn is Hillary territory. Probably carefully instructed a few ICE thugs to “do as you’re told”....detain them....

Arizona was Sued by the Fed’s when Obama was in office.

Arizona had to adhere to Obama’s executive order (at least that’s what we were told?)

NOW, fast forward...... The Courts want to flip flop over to interfere with Presidential Executive order(s).

I’m not a Lawyer , yet, something isn’t right when they want it both ways.

Comments?

Actually, the judge’s order prevents people in transit from being sent back to there country. It doesn’t let them into this country:

“A federal judge blocked part of President Trump’s executive order on immigration on Saturday evening, ordering that refugees and others trapped at airports across the United States should not be sent back to their home countries. But the judge stopped short of letting them into the country or issuing a broader ruling on the constitutionality of Mr. Trump’s actions”

Read that Uber and Lyft would probably sign on with the taxi drivers. Nothing official yet.

On November 20, 2014, President Obama nominated Ann Marie Donnelly to serve as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York.

On October 20, 2015 the Senate voted 95-2 in favor of final confirmation.

Ann M. Donnelly (left) is sworn in by Chief Judge Carol Bagley Amon as the 61st judge in the history of the Eastern District of New York during an investiture ceremony at the federal courthouse in Brooklyn.

Take the ‘refugees’ to a detention center - expedite the processing to a few hours. Put them on planes to the airport from whence they came..

A court order wasn’t needed in the first place and I wonder if the ACLU even has standing to pursue anything to do with immigration. I do wonder if these two being ‘detained’ had anything to do with an individual worker, or if customs is now called detention?
