The very bad reason Jeff Sessions is ‘very unhappy’

Nationwide, proceeds from sales of seized property (homes, cars, etc.) go to the seizers. And under a federal program, state and local law enforcement can partner with federal authorities in forfeiture and reap up to 80 percent of the proceeds. This is called — more Orwellian newspeak — “equitable sharing.”

No crime had been committed in the Sourovelises’ house, but the title of the case against them was Commonwealth of Pennsylvania v. 12011 Ferndale St. Somehow, a crime had been committed by the house. In civil forfeiture, it suffices that property is suspected of having been involved in a crime. Once seized, the property’s owners bear the burden of proving their property’s innocence. “Sentence first — verdict afterwards,” says the queen in “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”

I understood him to say that he supported Brexit.

So did I.

George Will forgot to mention some key facts.

The original drug sale by their son, at a location away from the house, happened more than two and a half years ago.

The parent’s “eviction” lasted one week, at which point the Police allowed the parents to move back into the home, as long as the son was not allowed to live there.

More than two years ago, after nation wide publicity, the city terminated its forfeiture case against the house, and the city made significant revisions to its forfeiture policies.

It’s basically referred to broadly. The IJ intervened and, if anything, maybe it was worse than what Will suggested, if it took a publicity campaign, not just legal assistance. If Will hasn’t clarified the intersection of the concern with Sessions — well, neither have you.

Trump success should not be made a ramrod for bad policy.

William Safire did the same thing in 1992 and told readers to “hold their noses” and vote for Clinton, as a protest to Bush 41 hiking taxes. Look where that piece of advice got us!

I happen to care. I’d like to see him forced to explain which founding father would have supported this, and if he can’t why he is supporting something blatantly unConstitutional.

Ahh, I must have misheard. Right after that, he said it was a forgettable year, or so I thought, so I assumed that he said he was against it. Sorry, George Will! But you still suck.

George Will should be banned from this site. He is the biggest a$$hole ever.

This bears repeating. Especially the second sentence.

Confiscation and forfeiture may be the most abused legal action in the govt arsenal

It needs to be reeled in not further expanded

Used to be the Feds abused it most

Now it’s state and local

Google cash confiscations

That’s just the tip of the iceberg

The founders would not believe it

It’s a lot more than the war on drugs

All agencies use it

George Will, like Jonah Goldberg and Bill Kristol, refuse to admit they were wrong about Trump, and by association, any and all members of his team. Pride comes before a fall, and these three, along with others who refuse to accept Trump, are becoming increasingly absurd and irrelevant, as are most of the MSM. A paradigm shift, of a political sort, needs to occur in their thinking, if they hope to rescue their careers, or in the case of regular citizenry, their sense of equilibrium. In more rustic terms, get on the Trump Train, as the only alternatives are to get run over or get left behind.

I read a very early piece from the seventies, which I found in the American Spectator archives, in which George, though just as windy as he is now (I believe he learned sentence structure from the Apostle Paul), was actually rather humorous, the which, believe it or not, was his intent. Perhaps if he could exhume his funny bone, he might recognise how petty and mean-spirited he has become, and stop taking himself quite so seriously.

I think that would be impossible for him anymore, as he has bought into the grandiose image of himself that only he can see. Because it only exists in his mind and he finds no faults within, only without, or as tinyowl says perfection beyond reproach.

George Will is a pompous little bow-tied twit who became irrelevant on November 8 despite all his elitist bleating about the badness of Trump and everyday normal Americans who don’t know what he thinks he knows.

Day after day, week after week, year after year, he sat behind his keyboard spewing lies, in a studio running his mouth, and living his cloistered elitist like completely insulated from the rabble he seems to hate. He can try, certainly, and he’s doing that but his words are no longer effective, nor do they sway anyone save the dogs he lays with sharing the communal fleas of “journalism.”
