SCHUMER, GILLIBRAND ANNOUNCE MORE THAN $60 MILLION IN FEDERAL FUNDS FOR 38 UPSTATE NEW YORK COUNTIES WORKING TO END HOMELESSNESS

Funding Will Be Used to Help Non-Profits, Local Governments Relocate Homeless Individuals & Families, Promote Self-Sufficiency Programs

U.S. Senators Charles E. Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand today announced $60,177,796 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) for 38 counties across Upstate NY that promote the goal of ending homelessness. The funding was allocated through HUD’s Continuum of Care (CoC) Program, which provides funding to nonprofits, as well as local and state governments, to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families and promote access to programs that encourage self-sufficiency.

“One homeless family is one too many, and we must do everything we can to help provide those truly in need with a place to live,” said Senator Schumer. “By supporting affordable housing initiatives in across New York State, and helping organizations work with homeless families and individuals to get them back on their feet, we can make a real dent in homelessness across the state. This is a sound investment in those organizations in our community who are skilled at helping those that are most in need.”

What a racket homelessness has turned out to be. How much of that money goes into the pockets of people getting grants from gov? Most of it.

How much money goes into the pockets of people in gov that have new job titles for homelessness? In Los Angeles one woman is making 156k for only 6 months work.

Busy spending other people’s money. That and lying
are the Democrats favorite pastime.

The tragedy is most of this will go to the Democrat Party.

‘Course nobody will mention that most of this homelessness is the direct result of the obama depression.

This won’t do a thing to “end homelessness.”

They’re going to use it to relocate the homeless. What are they going to do? Ship them to Pennsylvania?

The difference between a Democrat and a Republican is that a Democrat thinks that this announcement is a good thing. Good old Chuck and Kirsten are giving us $60 million!!! They must have taken it out of their own pockets!! Or made some greedy rich old white bastard pay his fair share!!!! Or maybe they have a magic money tree!!!

Nope. In fact, due to the libtard NYC generous policies, homeless and every other kind of bum make a beeline to the Big Apple. There is a law here that anyone who claims homelessness must be given shelter. Why, then, does anyone bother to go to school, get an education, and work? The people whose 2 babies recently got steamed to death from a bizarre radiator malfunction while living in an apartment the city paid for were 2 drug addicts from some New England state, not NY. The "mother" used to use her babies as props while she sat on the floor of a subway tunnel with the kids and strummed a guitar, with a sign with some sob story about how she needs money. The kids getting killed when the valve of the radiator popped off was the best thing to happen to these 2 loser "parents". Some kind hearted souls started a GoFundMe page and about $18,000 was collected so far. You can be SURE it will end up their noses or in their miserable veins. Again, NYC underwrote their living expenses while they lived it up on drugs or strumming guitars or getting 2 babies they could not support.

So sad.

The solution to the problem described is less government. Instead, the victims of excessive government get even more government.

Government dependency is an addiction that needs to be treated. And its dealers and enablers, like Schumer and Gillibrand, should be put out of business.

Representatives and Senators haven’t yet figured out that business in ‘The Swamp’ is going to be done differently now...

Give them time, they will learn...

Great! More Section 8’ers to continue ruining the inner cities. Historic inner cities now ruined: Newburgh, Poughkeepsie, Hudson, Rochester, Schenectady, Utica, Syracuse - actually most of them! My little hometown of Bath NY is not recognizable as the place I grew up in: 30 years later the once kept up streets and homes are run down and housing Section 8’ers who don’t care. It was once a cute village ...

Why do they find the need to “announce” this....I’ll tell you why - they think it’s their money that they are handing out and they want the credit.

Upstate’s already a ghost town. This will just send taxpayers fleeing faster. Upstate needs jobs and taxpayers, not a bigger welfare burden.

One has to wonder how much of this money will wind up in the Senator’s re-election fund? Some, no doubt.

BTW, guesstimate welfare spending by state and local NYS gov’ts for 2017: $18.2 billion. Chuckie and Gilibrand’s offer of $60 mil is just a drop in that bucket.
