Poll: Donald Trump One Point Behind Hillary Clinton in Michigan
Breitbart ^ | 03/11/2016 | Breitbart News

A new Michigan poll shows that Donald Trump is only one point behind Hillary Clinton in the battleground state, according to a 500-person likely-voter poll conducted by a GOP polling firm. The poll records Clinton’s support at 45 percent, while Trump’s support has climbed to 44 percent. Libertarian Gary Johnson is at 5 percent, and Green Party’s Jill Stein is at 2 percent.

The poll was conducted Oct. 29 to Oct. 30 It is either an outlier or an early warning of a Trump surge in the critical state, whose 16 Electoral Votes could provide a path to the White House for Trump.

“Michigan is moving to a toss up because Donald Trump is uniting the Republican base, has a strong lead among Independents, is on the verge of record support in blue collar areas such as Macomb County, and gains a higher proportion of African Americans than Republican candidates usually get in Michigan,” said a Facebook statement by John Yob, head of Strategic National, the firm which conducted the poll.

“The poll was conducted Oct. 29 to Oct. 30......”

__________________________

This was a poll conducted on the weekend. Weekend polls are notoriously inaccurate and favor the democrats.

From this, I say that Trump is actually leading in Michigan now.

Really burns me that the lib courts put the straight ticket voting back in, that gives’s Shill a slight bump, hopefully very slight.

Michigan has changed very rapidly in recent years.

Detroit’s population has been shrinking:
http://www.detroitnews.com/story/news/local/detroit-city/2016/05/19/detroit-population-rank-lowest-since/84574198/

The automotive industry’s union jobs have been shrinking.

Michael Moore (of Flint fame) is convinced Trump will win Michigan, even though he doesn’t support Trump.

The Democrats have signed trade agreement after trade agreement destroying Michigan industry—and people there know it.

I would be truly surprised if Trump did not win this state.

Gov Pence is going to be in Lansing today. I think Cruz is campaigning there with him.

Here is the schedule for Trump surrogates:

Sunday
Don Jr: Virginia; Ohio
Ivanka: New Hampshire; Pennsylvania
Eric: Florida
Lara: North Carolina
Jeff Sessions: Maine
Rudy: Nevada
Sarah Palin: Michigan

OK, Thanks. that helps a lot. I guess Oakland CO is downtown Detroit "Inner" city?

Maybe Trump's message to the poor black community has an effect and makes a difference.

We all need to say a prayer.

Completely anecdotal:

I live/work in Ontario, but most of our delivery drivers spend their days criss-crossing MI, OH, & IN.

They’re all convinced Trump is going to sweet the rust belt based on lawn signs, conversations with merchants and diner chatter.

I’ve been thinking for awhile now that Michigan will go red. We’re about due and Trump can do it. Here’s hoping. We just had a miracle with the Cubs so I am optimistic.

Go figure that the Jews and Arabs vote the same. Now that is some crazy.

Not all Middle Easterners are Arabs, and not all Arabs vote the same. Don't forget that there are a large number of Middle Eastern Christians in Michigan, and a lot of them are for Trump and were from the beginning.

Those big Trump numbers in Macomb County? Chaldeans are a big part of that.

Detroit itself is in Wayne County, as is union downriver, the union airport area, the Grosse Pointes, and some white collar far western suburbs.

Oakland County has some strong republican areas on the edges, the ghetto of Pontiac, rich areas like the Bloomfields that won't like Trump, the hipsters and homos in Ferndale and Royal Oak, and Detroit's black flight in Southfield and Oak Park. It usually goes democrat overall, but rarely by a large margin.

Yes you are correct. Having grown up in detroit /macomb county I always think Dearborn. But yes, I hear that macomb has a lot of Chaldeans. Sterling Heights from what I hear.

Three other polls take after this one put Clinton up by an average of 4 points. Believe what you wish.

The only poll that matters is on Tuesday.
