Serious Question: How is it that a person can support Hillary? (vanity)

Posted on 10/17/2016 12:26:29 PM PDT by Scythian_Reborn

I'm looking for serious answers, I really am. I know it's hard to avoid the one line quips and funny stuff but getting to the heart of this matter could save our nation.

I've been sitting here wondering how on earth a person could support and even worse be enthusiastic and cheer for Hillary at rallies? "It's beyond madness" I say to myself. And then I realize they think the same thing about us. "Trump is a Nazi" they say and so on. Yet, we know we're right, but then at the same time they are sure that they are the ones who are right. Yet we know we are right, yet they think the same thing.

To me it seems the answer to this question lies in knowing the truth. First one has to believe that there is such a thing as truth, second, that it can actually be determined, and thirdly one has to be willing to look into the truth even if that might make them uncomfortable, including totally unwinding their worldview entirely.

Back in 92 I actually voted for Clinton. I later then became a Christian in my early 30's, I mean a real awakening of Truth that could have only been of God. It changed everything, including examining what I thought to be true was in fact, not. And not just politically but in many aspects of my life.

I think back to those days and wonder, was I so sure that what I knew was the truth when I pulled that lever in 92 for Clinton? No, I really wasn't, I was a lightweight and I was smart enough to know I didn't really know. I think a lot of people on the left are like that. However, the media, which we now know is one and the same as the left, gives them comfort, reassures them daily that they are right, and just when a moment of doubt pops into their heads another news story on how evil Trump is fills the void.

I don't know what the answer is or if I am totally off base here. I am strongly reminded of C.S. Lewis and the Screw Tape letters.

Any further thoughts on this?

My sister-in-law is a flaming lefty. A college art professor.

In her words “Hillary has experience, she’s been a Senator and SOS. And she is calm and communicates well”. While “Trump is unstable and degrading to women and has no experience”.

She was truly giddy about Michelle Obamas speech the other night. In her world, after 8 years of Hillary would be 8 years of Michelle.

There is nothing anyone could do to change how she views the world.

The liberals have been seriously brainwashed but well compensated for their support.

Women and minorities have never had it better with regard to job opportunities. They are given preference in hiring because of affirmative action programs.

The poor and down-trodden are given free health care, free food and phones to boot.

The liberals import immigrants to add to the poor and downtrodden. Being poor and downtrodden in the US is better than being poor and downtrodden almost anywhere else.

Bottom line: democrats buy voters. That’s why people vote for Hillary.

I think one thing that gets overlooked is there are few Christians in the USA but there are a great deal of Religious people.

Many people are not deep thinkers and reason is alien to them. Facts are not feelings.

Trump seems mean so it does not matter that Hillary Clinton is the spawn of Satan.

From the perspective of her support among the voting public, she represents a “women’s right to privacy”. From the perspective of outside influences, she represents “globalism”.

Sheer ignorance about what it MEANS to be an American. It has been years since high school students have been given even the basics of how government is supposed to work at the local, state or Federal levels, and there is damned little REAL history taught any more.

Add to that deliberate disinformation being fed to students at all levels about how the world is related to human beings, and you have the basis of a whole lot of magical thinking.

I began to understand many years ago that most Americans (and maybe other nationalities too)fall into 1 of 3 groups.

1 The movers and shakers which in my view includes anyone working and hustling everyday. Generally we would rather not be bothered by politics but inevitably are forced to pay attention. This is the conservative base.

2 The victims that pay a great deal of attention to politics to cash in or bring about whatever change they want. This is the liberal base.

3 The get-bys that will never know who is running or what they will do to the country, but feel it their duty every 2 or 4 years to run to the ballot box and vote however daddy voted. And these are the "undecided" that every politician panders to.

Indoctrination — roughly defined, being bullied into letting letting other people do your thinking for you.

Yes. There are multiple factors that contribute to support for clinton, but the biggest IMO is propaganda.

Another simple take here. Those people don’t hate trump. They don’t hate McCain. .they don’t hate Romney. .they hate us. They embrace everything that we dislike simply because we dislike it. They are still children with mental issues.

Most Democrat Hillary voters are uneducated.

I had a recent conversation with one female, where I explained to her that Hillary used the IRS on Bill's women.

At first, she denied it, but then accepted the fact.

After that, she reiterated that she was voting for Hillary because Trump was going to be a "dictator".

I once again pointed out that Hillary used the IRS and the FBI on her fellow citizens, to no avail.

This goes to your "our tyrant" point, Londo. :)

The young woman must have skipped government class in high school...

What you said. See my post #33.

I'll swear she didn't have government class in high school.

Here’s the simple and serious answer to your question. A countless number of prospective voters have absolutely NO critical thinking skills, and they have been passively indoctrinated by the news media, the entertainment media, and the public education systems to fully endorse the so-called “progressive” ideology of the political Left, which ideology is aggressively anti-American.

They're not convinced they're right, they know which side their bread is buttered on.

They either aren't sure they can do as well without the corrupt bastards remaining in power or know for a fact they can't do as well without those same bastards in power.

You’re trying to look for a rational thinking from an irrational group of people. It just isn’t there. It’s all about power and control and they don’t care how irrational they are to achieve their results.

If you ever wanted to see what evil looks like, it is in the Democratic minions. There is no logic to evil.

parasitic libtards want the power to obtain the unearned, the undeserved, and something for nothing.

libtard media, professors, and teachers want the power to control thoughts

libtard politicians and bureaucrats want the power to control actions

helleri will give them that power

Pretty much everything listed here. They’ve been brainwashed into the multiculturalism mindset, and they view our immigration system as a mechanism for global social justice. (It also helps that immigrants economic status makes them reliable clients/voters for their domestic progressive agenda.)

I’ve spoken to liberals and said to them, “We can have an argument over the size and scope of the social safety net, but tell me how an open borders entitlement state is sustainable.” They never have an answer. It’s all pie in the sky nonsense. There’s no reaching them, even if means that they have to vote for a crook.
