"And by the way, with Iran, when they circle our beautiful destroyers with their little boats and they make gestures that our people -- that they shouldn't be allowed to make, they will be shot out of the water," he said at a rally here.

There is a territorial dispute between the Koreas that reaches out into the water. Basically North Korea claiming waters deep within South Korea’s territory. And the NorKs like to harass SKor warships in this area.

One time, one of their ships, at fairly close range made the mistake of test firing on a modern SKor warship. It responded by firing its Phalanx CIWS autocannon in direct fire mode.

In effect, it cut a NorK ship in half, lengthwise. This convinced the other NorK ship to skedaddle.
