There's a serious chance that Trump could still beat Clinton
CNBC ^ | September 2, 2016 | Jake Novak

There is a widespread belief that a Hillary Clinton presidency is a done deal.

Hillary Clinton supporters and a large portion of the mainstream news media have been convinced for months that Clinton simply cannot lose to Donald Trump under any circumstances. As a result, they see every twist and turn in this election as more proof that Clinton is succeeding and Trump is failing.

Here's a little World War II reminder of why that's a very dangerous mentality: In the weeks leading up to December 16, 1944, intelligence had been picking up evidence that the German army was planning a major counteroffensive in the Ardennes Forest. But the top generals in the Pentagon and in London dismissed the hard evidence right in front of them. You see, they had already determined and convinced themselves months before that Hitler's military machine didn't have any lethal attacks left in it. No amount of contradictory data were going to convince them otherwise. The result was what became known in the history books as "The Battle of the Bulge," a massive German offensive that caught the Allies by surprise and left 19,000 American troops dead and 56,000 more injured. It's also probably the most deadly example of confirmation bias in American history.

That groupthink mentality is also what led to the 2008 financial crisis that the U.S. economy is still struggling to dig out of. There was a widespread belief on Wall Street leading up to the housing market's collapse that subprime borrowers (i.e., people who might have trouble paying their mortgages) were a bottomless pit of growth and potential profits.

You and I now know how that turned out.

That sort of groupthink mentality about the inevitability of a Hillary Clinton presidency is in full force today....

They are like rats scurrying off a sinking ship braying with all their might. It still won’t stop their Hillary/Obama ship from sinking to where it belongs.

Yes, she does! It was “pickles” all around for our boys in Benghazi. And she absolutely refused to lift a finger to get them out of the big pickle they warned about.

Her pickle jar-opening feat of strength was such a sham...like pretty much everything else in her life.

Lol.

At least your comment forced me to read past the headline and excerpt.

I’m beginning to think that the so-called second American Revolution is going to come from the left.

Absolutely spot on.

Trump became a racist on June 16, 2015 when he a announced for president as a Republican.

Though they believed him to be a joke of a candidate, they still had to apply the “racist” label. Then “misogynist”, “homophobe”, etc., just in case.

Incredible how a man can transmorph into a monster all in one day.

My favorite story is how at age 17, young Trump didn’t have the courage to reprimand his father during a business transaction, because according to the rumormonger, Trump, Sr. used a racial epithet.

These revolutionaries are shameless. But we already know this.

Serious?! With the new FBI revelations about Hillary's private email server and her complete cluelessness about Classified data, Hillary's poll numbers are going to fall even faster.

Reporters are liberals - they tend to reinforce each other’s bias than think critically and look at the evidence in front of theme.

The CW that Hillary is going to be our next Prez is so strong not even facts are allowed to controvert it. I should know because I’ve been predicting a Hillary win on here since the spring.

At the time it looked like the CW was correct. One would be a fool to argue with what appeared to be iron-clad facts. But like a good scientist, when new data emerges that don’t explain new facts, one must be prepared to revise and update one’s theory.

I am willing to do this - new evidence points to a Trump win. The MSM isn’t because they’re invested in a Hillary win come hell or high water and they’re not going to allow the facts to come in the way of reality.

The next eight weeks will reveal if we have massive confirmation bias on our hands. And if we do, no one will have seen a Trump win coming.

There’s a real good chance Hillary is languishing in her sickbed this morning, too.

And that's the long & short of it this 3rd day of September. We have a little more than two moths to go before the ballots are cast and counted. In several very substantial ways the race is already defined and locked in.

We know who the candidates are, what they stand for, and how they're likely to conduct themselves if elected. There may come surprises before November 8th but I doubt there will be any true revelations.

So what is left is for the candidates to ride out the clock, try not to shoot themselves in the foot, and try to attract the few squishy undecided votes that remain.

My opinion, forged over a dozen such contests is that the pubbies are their own worst enemy. The dhimmicrats will piss n moan and whine about wanting the perfect candidate but when they close the curtain they are utterly predictable - they pull the lever for the "D" just as they've been instructed.

The pubbies OTOH, are fickle. They'll hold out for their perfect champion and give viable people the short-shrift. Then jump ship at the slightest obstacle or have a temper tantrum and refuse to vote. Thus sidelined, they'll lick their wounds and bemoan that the system is rigged against them.

We have an opportunity here unlike any I've seen before. We have a populist, anti-establishment candidate. He's trounced the pubbie establishment and goes into the final turn at full speed and full of energy.

And our opponent is the worst in memory. One thing you have to give Øbozo credit for - he is an excellent campaigner. He knows how to fill the seats and close the deal. Hellery does not. She is the epitome of the entitlement candidate - she shouldn't have to run because she feeeeeeeeeeeeeeeels that she is entitled to the office. She brings all of the worst attributes of humanity and politics to bear in a single rancid package.

The one thing that she has going for her is the "D" brand. Very few on the left have any empathy or admiration for her. But they'll vote for her because of the brand.

Let's hope that Trump peels off more non-traditional votes - the black, hispanic, and independent voters who have been repeatedly slapped in the face by the "D" brand.

So, yes, Hillary isn't hiding out because she's sick. She's just hiding out because she can.

They are depending on destroying Trump and she can win by default. She could never campaign out in the open and win and they know it.

Hillary is too sick to fulfill the PREPOSTEROUS promises of her party. Her oaths are deathbed lies and efforts to prolong her worthless life and finish out HER lifelong dream, not those of all Americans regardless of their party.

I’ll say this though: if Trump does win (and wins decisively), watch for enormous demand for military-quality paper shredders and the use of BleachBit software. With good reason: the MSM, Democratic National Committee, Wall Street firms, Berkshire Hathaway, and the big tech firms like Apple, Facebook, Google, Netflix, Oracle, Twitter and Yahoo! will want to erase all traces of the fact they were all coordinating together to defeat Donald Trump.

It’s the same psychology that blurred out a hero’s t shirt because it supported Trump. It’s not self delusional, it’s deliberate Marxist propaganda.

It’s psychological warfare but it’s double-edged. Some of these yahoos simply can’t bring themselves to admit Trump is leading. “Trump might actually still be able to win”...Really? The guy who has sellout crowds and is up now in national polls? He MIGHT have a chance against the despised criminal? These reporters need to be institutionalized.
