I guess if you want to divert the real argument here you could transfix on swimming and diverge to distraction. But we know what you’re really doing, don’t we?
The pestle is understood. Nobody asked for your opinion either, Mr. Proud.
I’m glad you were able to look it up... kudos.
What I’m really doing is trying to find out when conservatives started calling hard work and personal achievement “elitism.”
Well when there really is no cogent argument to explain immature behavior it is understandably difficult to think of something to say. :-)
Go live on your own pride. It is copious enough to last into eternity.
With apologies to actual coyotes. And I can shoot coyotes when they cause trouble. Journalists? Not so much.
There's nothing new about Big Media being a bunch of leftist liars. Walter Duranty? Walter Cronkite? Dan Rather? Shameless leftist liars of the very worst sort, and they're just the ones with familiar names.
The real story, here, is that out of all of Big Media ONE paper, the much derided USA Today, sent reporters out to report. It sent journalists out to do journalism. In doing so, they proved conclusively that the rest of Big Media are a bunch of agenda driven, narrative chasing lying sons-of-bitches.
It's a wonderful and rare thing to see these vile scumbags so thoroughly exposed.
Personal insults aren’t really your forte....
The act of hard work and personal achievement in and of themselves are not a blanket pardon for the reasons behind them. I’d have thought you’d known that.
You are absolutely correct, but not in the manner you intend it to be taken.
I will not argue that depending on big media to ‘get to the bottom’ of it with journalism is like asking a felon to explain the injustice of him getting caught in the act. For starters, depending big media ‘journalists’ to get to the bottom of a story when actual journalism is the last tool in their non-existent bag of capability is a wild stretch.
Imagine. A “sports journalist” on site in Rio does a belated exhaustive tortuous investigative feat reaching all aspects and witnesses to this story and pops up with his ‘story’ of truth. Never mind witnesses aren’t identified, never mind both sides of the story are present. Only the protective narrative of the pre-adjudicated story.
So now all Lochte’s hard work and personal achievement has been zeroed out...by a thought crime?
Oh, and who made you the world’s foremost mind-reader, that you can speak with such certitude re Lochte’s motives? Only God knows our hearts at their innermost level.
There's nothing on the Fox News site though yet.
He said he over-exaggerated. He apologized.
I left details out, which, thats why Im in this mess, Lochte said in response. I left certain things out, and I over-exaggerated certain parts of the story.
So when a team of reporters from USA Today actually goes out and does real, honest journalism, the pseudonymous Gaffer of Free Republic sneers at them.
Yeah, buddy, I've read the rest of the thread. You've made your point and your position quite obvious. Did a swimmer 'steal' your boyfriend in high school?
Ryan Lochte to be summoned to testify in Brazil over robbery claim
From the beginning, I said this was totally suspect, something made up by MSNBC to hike faltering ratings. I was right.
Your first absurd assumption is that sports media does or can do actual traditional journalism of yore.
Your second pathetic attempt at demeaning me implies some gay aspect which I'm sure isn't lost on you with all the gay buddies this prat has.
What I can't figure out is why all you contrarians persist in defending what he is and putting it in the category of sacrifice, hard work and accomplishment. And, it isn't about 'swimming,' 'buddy.'
ROFL!!! The crew from USA Today proved that they can and do.
Game over for you, Gaffer. You screwed up. You trusted Big Media. Now you have to sit and stew in their mess. Have fun ...
These days, everyone loves to f*** over a winner - especially a White male.
