Salon: GOP Must Dump Jesus or Risk Irrelevance in ‘Post-Christian America’
Breitbart.com ^ | 8/20/16 | by Thomas D. Williams, Ph.D.

Salon Magazine has accused the Republican Party of being out of touch with “post-Christian America,” warning the GOP that if it doesn’t renege on its alliance with Christianity, it will soon become irrelevant.

Ted Cruz’s failure to get the GOP nomination, Matthew Sheffield proclaims in Salon, “is a perfect window into trends that will set the pace of American politics for decades to come: Americans are moving away from Christianity, including people most likely to vote Republican.”

To back up his claims, Sheffield cites the 2014 Pew Research study finding that 23 percent of Americans say they’re “unaffiliated” with any religious tradition, up from 20 percent just three years earlier. The trend away from religion, and Christianity in particular, Sheffield argues, is the real cause of Republicans’ woes and their failure to win the last two elections.

“The likely reason why Republicans have declined in popularity among the non-religious is GOP’s long habit of identifying itself as a Christian party,

[[We know EXACTLY what the progressives want.

But they won’t say progressives should abandon Islam]]

Of course they won’t abandon Islam .
The brain dead progressives have got it in their heads that Islam only kills Christians and they want them here for that sole purpose.

Well, for give me if I am wrong, but near as I can figure it, a dead atheist has a sure fire ticket, all expenses paid, to a nice warm place in Hell.

I’ve never understood atheism, we’ve got nothing to lose by believing, but a guaranteed loss by disbelieving.

“...we’ve got nothing to lose by believing, but a guaranteed loss by disbelieving.”

Money quote! Every now and then I ask, “what if those damned atheists are right?” but it quickly passes. Several times a day something good happens that makes me look up and say, “thank You, Lord”. Too much evidence out there of His presence and goodness. I just look around and say, “All this is nothing but a massive cosmic accident. Yeah, right.”

Guess I’m not smart enough to be an atheist. Most of them are arrogant know-it-alls.

The left is desperately trying to break down every vestige of traditional values America. They are trying to centralize power in Nannyland, D.C.

They must feel they are near their goal as they seek to pry lose the very rock and foundation that has supported humankind in its rise from the muck.

The many times it has been tried before, human misery, death, violence and despair have quickly replaced the fruits of grace.

Here's an interesting concept, related to your post...

Pascal's Wager

Blaise Pascal (1623-1662) offers a pragmatic reason for believing in God: even under the assumption that God’s existence is unlikely, the potential benefits of believing are so vast as to make betting on theism rational. The super-dominance form of the argument conveys the basic Pascalian idea, the expectations argument refines it, and the dominating expectations argument gives a more sophisticated version still.

Not really knowing a lot about Salon, though having read articles from there, usually posted here. Decided to check out and see what Salon was all about. LOL I found out Salon is all about being a skeleton, a corpse of a so-called magazine.

Here is great article covering the rise and now fall of Salon. At present, Christianity is doing fine in a POST-SALON world.

Cruz is a Dominionist and hooked up with that Mormon nutbar Glen Beck. Cruz may have talked like a Christian but his actions indicate otherwise.

“Post-Christian America”?

IMO, we’re already there. The People have relinquished their sovereignty to the all-powerful govt; allowing them to enslave the masses for their ‘betterment’.

Ask anyone on the street re: inalienable Rights vs. forced charity, and watch the light behind their eyes go out.

It’s the Tyler Cycle in action. I’d presume we’re in the ‘Selfishness’ phase. Regardless, we got a few steps before the next cycle:

Bondage
Spiritual Faith
Courage
Liberty
Abundance
Selfishness
Complacency
Apathy
Dependence...repeat

I have been against Cruz because he is a warmonger—pure and simple!!!! If one wants warmongers in power, just do nothing. Then Hillary—queen of corruption and queen of war—will win. And we’ll have war with Russia, too. PHOOEY!!!!

Donald Trump at least has been making allies with evangelical protestants, and—in a couple of cases—with Orthodox Christians. Perhaps he is our modern-day Constantine! Sometimes, I audaciously pray that he will come into our Holy Orthodox Church. More seemingly unlikely things have happened!!

Meanwhile, Hillary clinton cited her Methodist faith in her acceptance speech. But it was all about “Do all the good you can. By all the means you can. In all the ways you can. In all the places you can. At all the times you can. To all the people you can. As long as ever you can.” NO MENTION of Jesus Christ whatsoever!!!!

Besides that, Hillary’s statement was made to cover a lie! She used it to explain why she did not enter a prestigious law firm after Yale Law School. The REAL issue was that she flunked her bar exam!!!! But lots of lawyers flunk their bar exam the first time, go back and pass it, and then go on to distinguished careers. So once again, much remains unexplained in Hillary’s story.

If anyone dumps our Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, He will dump them!!!!

http://biblehub.com/mark/8-38.htm

Besides that, our entire history and culture as Americans has been based on Judeo-Christian values. I know that many Millennials and others want to move “beyond” that. They spend Sunday mornings on brunch and/or those vile “public affairs” TV programs.

But isn’t that dangerous, when we are under constant attack by islam, neo-Marxism, and the “gay” movement? And don’t we need God’s blessing, and His presence in our lives?

REALLY!!!!

Yep - and GB was swearing him in at a “Bible college”.

A Mormon, swearing in a Dominionist, at a “Bible college”.

You can’t make this stuff up.

Salon Magazine has accused the Republican Party of being out of touch with “post-Christian America,”

It's not "post-Christian America," it's the non-Christian invasion of the land mass.

America is still Judeo-Christian, but Americans are being displaced from their homeland by outsiders.

The problem is our Vichy leaders who are collaborating with the occupiers. They will find out all too late that the plans of the occupiers do not ultimately include them.

America is only “moving away from Christianity” in the demented minds of a few black-robed tyrants. That is where the decisions are being made, NOT by the people.
