On the way back to the Olympic Village, we pulled into a convenience store to use the restroom. There was no restroom inside, so we foolishly relieved ourselves on the backside of the building behind some bushes. There was a locked door out back and I did not witness anyone breaking it open. I am unsure why, but while we were in that area, Ryan pulled to the ground a framed metal advertisement that was loosely anchored to the brick wall. I then suggested to everyone that we needed to leave the area and we returned to the taxi.

No, not all rich, privileged athletes. Just the ones that lie and make millions off a supposedly amateur sport.
You: the Brazilian side of the story is one hundred percent true. The American side of the story is one hundred percent false.
Ok.
Hate the rich—at least the rich who got that way from working their butts off in the swimming pool.
Do you even know anything about Ryan Lochte?
That is the law in many countries. Don’t like it, then stay out!
Us law applies only in the US.
Just never heard a pub crawl, pardon me ... “night clubbing”, described as an “event”. Only an attorney could come up with a word like that, which tells us who prepared the guy’s statement.
I know he’s a liar. You said so.
You got it wrong. Guilty until proven innocent is the law in the US. Don’t believe me?
Just read this thread.
So. To be sure, his ‘apology’ here in the states wasn’t over a lie he told? I want to get that straight now. Was it an apology for getting caught? An apology for embarrassing that fine amateur spirit of the Olymics? What?
The swimmers at the very least imbellished the story. Even they admit that.
But all they had to do was keep their mouths shut, but instead by making up a story, they just lost millions of dollars in endorsment deals.
And they do not put you on the cover of a Wheaties box for Gold Medaling in Stupidity.
The apology itself was probably a lie. You did say he was a liar, right? Then why trust a word he says.
“Hate the richat least the rich who got that way from working their butts off in the swimming pool.”
We all work our butts off.
Some work their butts off in a swimming pool, others work their butts off on a football field, and most others work their butts off in school and or a job.
They are all the same thing and being a swimmer does not make one special.
You are devolving into reductio absurdum. You should just quit it while you think you’re ahead.
What I read was that it’s difficult to be in a situation of not knowing the language, and have a gun pointed at you coupled with a demand for money.
But don’t let me get in the way of your guilty-until-proven-innocent bash fest. As I said above: Brazilians, 100% honest, Americans, 100% liars.
Just cancel the Olympics and give everyone a participation medal. Much better...much more liberal.
Beg to differ. If Lochte is a liar, why trust him? Failing to see the absurdity...
Well, that’s understandable. There are a lot of things you fail to see. You bore me.
Haha! I’m so boring, you post reply after reply.
SMH.
This is Rio, not Disney World. Ever seen "The Walking Dead"? Much safer on that show...And I like Brasil.
That being said, Rio consumes fools on a daily basis. At 32, the man should have had an ounce of a clue.
I've got family friends there. As I hear it all of Brasil is about to collapse. Probably already has and no one can really tell the difference.
Sounds like it might just have been a bad idea to hold the Olympics there? I wonder how thorough a briefing the athletes received. Might it have been considered unPC to explain how dangerous the place is?
