Where's The Letter From Democratic Security Officials Opposing Hillary?
Townhall.com ^ | August 18, 2016 | Victor Davis Hanson

Posted on 08/18/2016 4:38:35 AM PDT by Kaslin

A group of 50 conservative foreign policy elites and veteran national security officials of prior Republican administrations recently wrote an open letter denouncing Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump.

They cited especially his lack of character and moral authority -- and his "little understanding of America's national interests." Particularly bothersome, they wrote, is Trump's inability "to separate truth from falsehood."

The letter stated that Trump's one-year campaign of blustery rhetoric suggests he could be as reckless in deed in the White House as he has been in word on the campaign trail.

Is there a like group of past Democratic wise men and women who can commensurately "police their own" and so warn us about Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton?

Unlike Trump, Clinton already has an actual political record as a former U.S. senator and secretary of state.

If there were such a group, the heart of their letter might read something like the following:

Democrats largely have no ethics. The system has selected those that have succeeded in that party in that manner.

I have always voted for the Republican nominee in the general elections, and will do so again on November 8, and as long as I live.

Have you?

For the presidential nominee yes I have.

You say that as if it’s a good thing. Republicans don’t deserve votes simply because of their label. They only deserve our votes because of their ACTIONS. When they put up Socialists and other big gubmint leftists, they deserve a full-on repudiation (like McQueeg, Willard, Haslam, Corker, Lamar!, et al).

Everyone, and I do mean EVERYONE in that party (with the possible exceptions of Doug Schoen and Pat Caddell) sold their souls for thirty pieces of taxpayer-funded silver years ago.

The 50 GOP officials work for the Cheap Labor Express, just like their bosses.
If Hillary falls behind look for an endorsement by Yeb! and W.
They are not about to allow the citizens to reverse 30 years of bipartisan policy of non-enforcement of laws and borders.

No, we need a citizen who cares about other citizens in the White House.
The last “cowboy” we had left the borders open for his amigos from south of the border and refused to enforce the laws on fraudulently documented foreigners.

Lot of “formers” there. I am assuming that these bozos are the reason we are having these problems in the first place.

Sorry gaffer, sometimes it’s hard to determine motive. It’s interesting what one can decern from a simple letter supporting a position.

I make it a SPECIAL point to take note and archive the names of traitors who have put their names to paper in a self-serving effort to undermine this country.

I did this with the 400 ‘Historians’ who in 1998 took out a full page NYT ad attesting (basically) that a BJ isn’t an impeachable offense.

I saved all the names from the traitors in the NRO “Against Trump” issue,

I saved this latest spate of RINO political thuggery under the guise of ‘Security’ experts.

I save them all and any time I get the opportunity, I reply with a listing of them in the appropriate threads. We cannot forget these people, ever.

How many of 'the fifty' Republican quislings have given 'speeches' in the ME for large sums of cash? How much money have they received from the Cheap Labor Express? Does Soros donate to them?

I mean let's get real here Victor.

Victor Davis Hanson needs to understand: people like me (and many of the millions of citizens who voted for Trump) have held our noses in the past and voted for GOP Establishment Candidates - - people who NEVER cared about us or our concerns. These GOPE types worked for their donors and the fake constituents (fake letter writers working in Democrat War Rooms assuring them stopping 'gridlock' mattered etc) Yes, our people are played for fools and because we're at the bottom we know it. Just like we know Clintons' speeches were bribes. At the bottom we don't have the luxury of being fools. Speaking of which, many of us will NEVER vote for another Establishment GOP candidate running for President for the rest of our lives.

We don't see your 'group' Victor David as 'principled' we see you as sore losers who took your ball and went home when your pick for 'captain' didn't win.

Will I ever 'hold my nose' and vote for a Bush or a McCain again? Hell no - in fact hell will freeze over before that happens. Why aren't democrats deserting their pick? Might have to do with loyalty.

Democrats defend their base and the base reciprocates. If the IRS had gone after grass roots Democrat groups the Dem party BIGS would have been screaming bloody murder. When the IRS went after conservative groups our GOPE 'BIGS' kicked us in the head - we were down anyhow, right?

My point is loyalty's a two way street... and my wish is for all of us who voted for Trump leave the GOP if Trump's not elected. Let the damn conservative elites have the party... millions of us are disgusted with their poor sportsmen-ship and their total narcissism ... and it's almost time for us to walk.
