It was recently reported that Trump brought in $80 million in July and he so far has spent $0 on TV advertisement. Does anyone know how he's spending it, or is he saving it up for after Labor Day?
Not sure but he sure isn’t buying negative ads in Ohio from what I have seen. Hillary sure is though. non-stop.
Same here in PA. She is bludgeoning him with ads that make him look like a blithering fool. I fear she is really doing some damage amongst the crowd that watches a lot of TV.
I don’t know but I suspect he is saving it up for a shock and awe blitz going into the last few months of the race. He needs to get with it though. Even though ads haven’t been highly effective against him he really needs to cut through the media to do two things. Highlight his strengths and highlight Clinton’s disqualifiers.
I saw the same story...but it also said he had $39 million cash on hand, meaning he had spent $41 million last month. Absent ad buys, coupled with stories of lean field offices in swing states, I wondered where that money was spent.
I think it’s funny, the liberal media that so hates Trump gives him millions of dollars worth of free publicity! The irony is so thick you can cut it with a knife!
Sadly we heard the same thing with Romney - it never came and the rest is history.
He should be carpet bombing these states at the same rate she is - rest assured she will keep up this pace of advertising.
I’m sure it’s being spent in the best possible way to ensure maximum great winning success. No other possibilities may be entertained, except by traitors.
It does cost money to conduct these rallies—renting facilities, travel, etc.—especially when he’s doing two or three a day not to mention Pence. But it would be nice to see some ads.
He knows what he’s doing. He has a budget issue compared to the Witch and he knows what the likely voter polls are saying through Kellyanne. I’m sure he’d pop the cork if he thought he was actually behind by more than anything he could deal with in a week of hard press.
They cant take him out with a 98 to 1 ad barrage or a non-stop media/press disinformation campaign. TV ads in that environment before the likely voter polls start coming out is a waste of money. Trust him.
Well, I doubt if he’s going to use it to buy a Lake House like some are wont to do.
Since you brought up Romney...
I think Trump is counting on landing a knock-out punch in the debates. I wouldn’t do that if I were him. GOPe quislings are already consorting with Democrats to slant the rules against him. And frankly I think Hillary is going to find reasons to beg-off anyhow.
And Romney's crowds were every bit as big as Trump's. </sarcasm>
I thought it was for support for the RNC
I think Trump should say “ Hey, let’s not have debates, After all Hillary’s health is not up to the task. Wouldn’t want her to drop out of the race.”
Trump seems to have expected major GOP donors to put vast sums at his disposal after he won the nomination. His abrasive manner and campaign tactics though alienated many such donors, and media hostility and gaffes have kept him off balance and impaired his credibility as a general election candidate. The romance of insurgency leads many to overlook the record of history: most insurgents lose. Trump may nevertheless win, although I fear it would be in spite of his campaign effort.
He hasn’t needed to spend a penny on advertising. He is well-defined in the news and no amount of money is going to change that. He gets his free advertising via his mouth, by actually saying something. People tune out ads, plus this is summertime. I suspect he’ll pay for advertising if and when it becomes helpful.
Timing. Waste of money right now. Patience and Strategy, not instant gratification.
Negative ads work. However they are most effective when used 2 weeks or so in advance of the election. I think Trump is letting Hildebeast spend her money now and then he will put his ads up closer to voting day. I think he has made $11 million in ad buys or something g close to that.
I did look up the data and yes in 1980 and 1988 the situation looked much more grim for Reagan and George Bush senior at this point. In fact Reagan was a lock to lose till about 7 days out and then those undecideds began to flip to him in record numbers and the polls turned upside down and well the rest is history.
