Mike Pence ‘strongly’ endorses Paul Ryan, as Trump refuses to do the same

As Donald Trump holds off endorsing House Speaker Paul D. Ryan in Wisconsin's Republican primary, his running mate enthusiastically endorsed Ryan on Wednesday, calling him a “longtime friend” and “strong conservative leader.”

“I strongly support Paul Ryan, strongly endorse his reelection,” Indiana Gov. Mike Pence said during an interview on Fox News on Wednesday afternoon. “I believe we need Paul Ryan in leadership in the Congress of the United States to rebuild our military, to strengthen our economy and to ensure that we have the kind of leadership in this country that will make America great again.”

Trump has angered his party's leadership by refusing to endorse Ryan or Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) in their primary campaigns. Both Ryan and McCain have endorsed Trump but have remained critical of many of his comments, including Trump's ongoing public feud with the parents of a Muslim American soldier killed in 2004. Wisconsin holds its primary Tuesday and the Arizona primary is later this month. In an interview with The Washington Post on Tuesday, Trump praised Ryan’s underdog opponent, Paul Nehlen.

“Doubt Pence would have done this without DJT’s permission. It is a token peace, not a rebellion.”

That’s how I see It.

Trump says, “Let Trump be Trump”.

I imagine he says “Let Pence be Pence”.

Trump is not a politician.

It’s a little like a just-out-of -the-military fighter pilot flying for the airlines, I think. He’s not exactly a company boy, looking for excitement, controlling the stick, hoping for a challenge like a thunderstorm or something.

Cuockoo. Until someone has to put it down in the freezing Hudson over a couple of wayward geese.

Fox is struggling for a narrative. But Trump will be Trump and he probably can’t care any less that his Republican running mate is endorsing a republican.

Indeed. Trump likely asked him to smother the fire which the MSM, Khan and the RATS deceitfully ignited.

Trump is exposing the RINOs.

He’s uniting the PEOPLE.

The only ones saying he needs intervention are shills.

Pence gives me the creeps.

Me too. But Trump picked him, so it had to be the proper move.

Kiss off.

TRUMP doesn’t fall apart. Find a concern troll site. You swallow the panicked media meme and you’ll get run over.

Sure. Why not?

People are fretting. Fox is ‘apopleptic’ and falling apart - what are the odds Ailes’ ouster has nothing to do with this race?- and Trump is going to get through it.

He would be as unhappy as anyone who can see this country changing if HRC were to get in.

Count on it.

The article quotes Pence today saying that he and Trump discussed the endorsement and Trump encouraged him to do it.

Sorry, but this is the historical outcome with the vast majority of people we send to DC.

I sincerely hope it won't happen with DJT.

You did read where Trump thanked Nehlen for his kind words and complimented his great campaign?

He may be doing more than we know ($$$) for Nehlen, but can not buck the re-election of anyone, apparently.

UNTIL HE IS IN THE WHITE HOUSE....

-- Is there serious competition for that slot at this point? --

Supposedly the Ryan/Nehlan race is a tossup, so yes, there is serious competition for that slot.

This endorsement nonsense is all about the GOPe trying to make Trump subservient to Amnesty Ryan. Why the hell should Trump endorse Ryan when he is fragging Trump RIGHT NOW on Twitter?

Trump is alone on an island, with 13,000,000 others that nominated him. Let’s not focus on his few detractors.

Operative word is still...”fear”.

Don’t be afraid of what might happen. Or in your mind, WILL happen.

Exactly what I would expect of Pence, who is a business as usual RINO......I support Trump for Trump, not for Pence.

Pence caved to the corporatist elites on First Amendment religious freedom last year as the governor of Indiana.
