MOUNT PLEASANT — Two sisters were charged with disorderly conduct after a disagreement over a bill for a bridesmaid dress apparently turned into a full-blown fight outside a bridal shop.

Chartaya M. Diggins, 31, of the 1800 block of Woodland Avenue, Racine, and Juvosha V. Diggins, 34, of the 2000 block of Loni Lane, Racine, both face misdemeanor disorderly conduct charges in connection with the incident, which occurred Thursday afternoon.

According to the complaint, Chartaya Diggins received a call from the mother of her fiancé informing her that $40 was owed on a bridesmaid dress at Image of Racine, 6222 Washington Ave., Mount pleasant.

The phone call angered Chartaya Diggins so much that she and her fiancé drove to the bridal store, according to the complaint. Once there, Chartaya Diggins and her fiance’s mother got into a loud verbal argument over the payment, according to the complaint.

The fiancé got both women out of the store, but the argument continued, with the fiancé attempting to separate the two women and more family members arriving at the bridal store, according to the complaint.

Workers at the bridal store locked the front door, telling Mount Pleasant police officers that they feared for the safety of themselves and other customers in the shop, according to the complaint.

My guess ‘Chartaya’ is pronounced SHART-tay-a.

I hope her friends don't call her Shart as a nickname. It has an entirely different meaning!

Sounds like stewing resentment between the two femmes.

If he can’t get the wedding to happen in a civilized manner, he should just elope.

“Where do they get these names?”

From the ingredients in over the counter pain medications?

After this display, if he’s smart, the groom will book.

Sometimes, we get a message, a warning, a sign. I'd consider this a message if I were the groom.

Well they say he did try to separate the femmes.

But an over jealous mother and a resentful fiancee. Elope, boy, elope. Don’t be seen within 1000 miles of Racine.

Where do they get these names?

Maybe mama sharted while thinking of one name and was attending a Jewish-owned vocational school while thinking of the other?

Yeah, a sign that Mama is Big Big Trouble.

The bible is clear. Leave and cleave. He could do what he could to make peace at the wedding, if he won’t elope, but then ciaosville, with Chartaya. Go to New Mexico or something.

I had to go to the urban dictionary after that.

While her actions point to the soft "Ch", imho, I'd recommend her adopting the hard "Ch", if at all possible.

She seems like the type to hang with those familiar with urban slang, rather than the OED crowd.

Reminds me of the mother who named her daughter LA-A! When the school where the girl attended asked the mother how to pronounce her name, the mother said: “It’s Ladasha, the dash don’t be silent!”

Now that gave me a laugh.

Chartaya versus Juvosha. Sounds like an epic Japanese horror movie battle. Where do they get these names?

My guess is that this had a history and that the diss of Chartaya towards Mama wasn’t the first move in this chess game of hell.

If the guy will stand up and be a real man he could make peace, but it would involve getting that Motherzilla out of his life.
