I hope it wasn’t an image search!
Wait, what?
At this juncture I am going to respectfully opt out of this conversation. I think we are discussing two entirely separate topics.
Of course not. I said your reference to the history was flippant and dismissive.
In any event, you sound like a separatist. Which is tolerable, as long as you don't try to employ the machinery of the State against other individuals' and groups' freedom of choice and association. Unfortunately, using the State to to enforce the "subordination" you touted is the historical reality of such attitudes.
Some of these laws you refer to, that were intended to forcibly separate people, once made it criminal for me, a white man, to have a black woman as my girlfriend. Or at least to be driving through the countryside with her in the front seat of my car. No thanks. Bigotry is bigotry, and to try to excise that reality from US history is every bit as hysterical as what the BLM extremists do today.
So pardon me if I'm not overwhelmed by the wisdom of such "enlightened" individuals and the laws they promulgated.
However, 50% of all murders and an estimated 90% of all violent crime comes from a single demographic. It is a farce to not acknowledge these Hate Facts.
It's also a farce not to judge individuals by their own personal character, instead of broad-brushing them.
The fact is that the vast majority of Americans of all colors, including Blacks, are peaceable folk who just want to live and let live.
To be clear, the "common sense" you have cited, at least to this FR member, does smack of racism...
No one has time for that. When the dark figure approaches in that alley I do not have time to judge him by his character. That is unreasonable.
I go by the statistics just like betting on horses.
There are neighborhoods near me where I or my family would be in existential danger if we were out of out car and just walking down the street. Violence is endemic there. To say I should judge all the denizens of that neighborhood individually is unrealistic.
Again, let me state that my primary motive is not to hurt anyone's feelings or put anyone down, but rather the safety and survival of my family. I don't expect you to care if my family lives or dies (indeed it sounds like you don't), but I care greatly.
