A man who worshiped at the same mosque as the Orlando gunman says he never heard him say anything particularly hateful or homophobic, but he still reported him to the FBI.
“The fact that this person was a Muslin I knew… very disturbing,” Mohammad Malik said.
Malik attends the same mosque in Fort Pierce that Omar Mateen frequented.

I suspect many have retired. Some have resigned.
What that does is ensure the department is more corrupted as their replacements are certain to be more politically correct.
Better for agents to stay in place and be reliable sources of information than to resign.
Of course, the FBI has been highly political since it came under Hoover, and it has a long pattern of being unconcerned with Constitutional rights.

Omama is out to destroy this country and all federal agencies are now a disaster. The FBI used to be recognized as one of the top criminal investagive agencies in the world. Now the Kestone Cops could do so much better than what the FBI has become.
Anybody with a little common sense can see that Omar Mateen's father had contacts in the Omama administration and was able to call off the feds whenever his son was in trouble. It is so obvious that he should have been arrested but the Feds were told to leave him alone.

It sounds like a lot of people were suspicious of him, and the FBI protected him.
He was a security guard working for a government contractor. This is what being fully vetted looks like, for anyone paying attention. Think about this when they talk about “vetting” the million immigrants they are bringing in from the war zone.
