EXCLUSIVE: Sessions Open To Being Trump’s Running Mate — ‘I Would Consider It’

Amid speculation he is on the short list, Alabama Sen. Jeff Sessions told The Daily Caller on Friday that he “would consider” an offer to be Donald Trump’s running mate, “like any other citizen should,” if offered.

It’s the farthest Sessions has gone in publicly acknowledging interest in serving in a potential Trump administration.

During an half-hour interview in his Capitol Hill office about a wide-range of topics — including immigration, trade, national security and the 2016 campaign— The DC asked Sessions if he is open to being Trump’s running mate.

“If I could help him in some way — and he were to ask me — I would consider it like any other citizen should,” said Sessions, who was the first senator to endorse Trump’s presidential campaign and serves as an adviser to the presumptive Republican nominee.

He should certainly be on the list.

The last time the country was at a place like this the GOPe forced Bush down Reagan’s throat. This time we need a Vice President who can keep the revolution going.

Is Sessions dynamic enough to carry the ball if something happens to Trump?

If so, is he young enough to carry the torch 8 years from now?

(And... Whoever Trump picks... Please... NO MORE BUSHES!)

He resigned to be President of the Heritage Foundation. I doubt he is interested in being a VP.

I knew that. I was pointing out to Lurkinanloomin by asking him if DeMint was still as senator.

Yup. Duncan Hunter Jr. has all the credentials Trump is looking for in a running mate.

Very impressive resume.

Sen Sessions is the one who gave Trump the Immigration Magna
Carta.......which catapulted Trump to front-runner status, IMHO.

Haley, Jindal, Cruz and Rubio are all children of foreign nationals and NOT natural born citizens.

Nikki haley endorsed more alternate candidates than trump has marriages
But she never helped trump

She is neither loyal nor experienced in dealing with Congress and the DC bureaucracy

President Nikki Haley
How does that reassure you if something bad happens soon in trumps presidency?

Trump does NOT not need to pander by using the Vice presidency as an affirmative action post for ethnics and women

I felt the same way until I remembered that Duncan Hunter Sr. Was proactive in illegal alien law enforcement and got the Fence Act passed in 2006. Then I heard his son had taken the baton from his Dad as a conservative Republican congressman in southern CA. He's a Marine combat veteran, businessman. and sits on various congressional committees.

Study this:

Too many gray beards. Need youthful dynamic to carry Trump’s torch.

No, that is one of the reasons why he would be perfect. He knows the workings but doesn’t have the stench of the current state of affairs on him.

There are honestly so few Republicans that deserve to be advanced based upon merit.

I really can even think of one.

It makes more sense to go with un-elected Republicans, because they have pissed off or betrayed anyone lately.

My pick is West.

He is a good man, and he has a GOP dagger in his back from a while ago.

I’d advance him over them any day.

I, as a common citizen of these United States would also be open to be Trump’s nominee for Vice President of the United States, I am a Veteran of the Vietnam War, possess common sense, a love of Country, and am confident I would do a hell of a better job than touchy-feely Joe Biden.

Frankly, I would prefer no one from the senate.
That is the most traitorous, conniving, useless gathering of pure trash in the entire universe.
None of them are worth spit.

I quite agree; in fact, if you find it at all useful feel free to take a paper I wrote proving that the Senate ought to be tried for Treason.

I like Duncan D. Hunter also. He spoke at the San Diego rally but I was not able to see him.
