Trump’s VP Pick Prediction
Scott Adams' Blog Dilbert ^ | Posted May 17th, 2016 | Scott Adams

Posted on 05/17/2016 9:15:26 AM PDT by GilGil

As I said, predicting a VP choice is nearly impossible until the last minute because the situation is fluid. A candidate might need some help in a key state, based on current polling. Or the opponent might open up a new line of attack that needs a defense. A lot can change in a few weeks.

But as of today, and according to the Master Persuader filter, I put the odds at 90% than Trump picks Brown as his running mate.

There are a lot of rumors that it’s gonna be Newt. His age isn’t a problem because he’s in good health and has a very clear mind.

Cruz would spend the whole time plotting to advance himself and get camera time. UGH....If I didn’t have to listen to him and didn’t have to see him I might be able to stand him.

Walker is tactically a good choice. But.. So is Kasich for the Ohio win. Yikes.

"Because Trump is, too."

I thought we'd just let that one hang out there for a while....

Picking an underqualified woman or latino would be the kiss of death.

Agree!

A possibility, but it wouldn't help him much in most of the country. If the goal is to help him in Ohio, Brown would appear to be a long shot. Gilmore gets him Virginia, and that's going to be a fight otherwise.

Ernst or Christie or not my picks, just who I think Trump might pick.

We are in a perilous position here. Of course, all of us want to see Trump elected President. The VP slot has traditionally been a ticket balancer. Previous VPs have repaired chandeliers. There only serious job is to step in if the unthinkable happens. Trump needs to reassure dubious Americans about his executive and legislative competence. A proven entity like Walker or Kasich would go far. He HAS to have Ohio and Florida to win.

Kasich is not a bad pick but I’d prefer a younger guy.

“Sorry Scott Adams, it will be Newt Gingrich. Scott Brown has scant experience when placed alongside Newt’s.”

I agree with that.
1. Newt was the last Speaker to balance the budget.
2. Newt had the Contract With America that helped get Republicans elected top to bottom. The time is right to do a repeat of that.
3. Newt is excellent with the press.
4. Newt has the innate ability to explain the complicated issues in plain English so that most everyone understands them. Some dimoKKKRATS are beyond clueless.
5. Newt knows how to get legislation through Congress.

Trump needs someone who really knows how Congress works but still looks like an outsider.

And Trump chooses people he can work closely with.

Rumors out of the Trump campaign are that Newt is at or near the top of the list.

Walker and Kasich are governors, he’s already said he wants someone who can help get his legislation through and that’s going to be a Senator or a lobbyist.

The only reason Trump would choose Kasich is if he thought he (Trump) was weak in Ohio...and he's not.

I don't think Trump likes Kasich.

“Trump-Cruz 2016
This way we get 16 years of Cruz”

That was my dream ticket months back. However Cruz seems to be going off the deep end. I just cannot see that happening.

BTW Jim Webb would be an out-of-the box choice with legislative experience, and he's more conservative than Trump!

Webb? Please no.

Webb actually makes Scott Brown and Donald Trump look conservative.

Nice pun, “scant experience,”

If the MSM would run these 30 year old Cosmo photographs like they have for Hillary, then we would win with Scott Brown on the ticket.
