GREENFIELD, Ind. — At a campaign stop just days before the critical Indiana primary, Heidi Cruz, wife of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, said one of her husband's strengths in the campaign is that he "is an immigrant."

"Ted is an immigrant," Mrs. Cruz said, emphasizing the word "is." "He is Hispanic."

“The Constitution is the Constitution. There are no other provisions in the Constitution or in any of its amendments that refer to positive or natural law. Similarly, you will not find the terms Catholic or protestant in the Constitution.”

The Constitution is not an 18th Century law dictionary. The authors of the Constitution relied upon prior common law, Law of Nations, and Law of Nature as the basis for drafting the Constitution and said so in the drafting of the Constitution, ratification of the Constitution, and subsequent case law analyses of the Constitution. Historical precedents in English, British, British American colonial, and U.S. law established the qualification of a lawful natural born citizen required birth with two citizen parents within the jurisdiction of the citizen parents’ sovereign. When the Constitution was drafted in the 18th Century there was no need to elaborate on the meaning of the natural born citizen clause given how no person to that time had ever been lawfully recognized as a natural born citizen without the qualification of birth with two citizen parents in the jurisdiction of their sovereign. All other persons were either naturalized subjects, natural born subjects, or naturalized citizens; but they were never natural born citizens without the forgoing qualifications.

Nice try. Trump personally against abortions since 2000, would revisit the limits and allow only early abortions for rape or life of the mother. A significant step forward. Vowed to defund PP if they continue doing abortions.

Partial birth abortions in 1999 Trump was pressured that if he was pro-choice then PBA must be OK. The experience caused him to search his heart and make the statement within a few months that he has said something he didn’t believe and he made a statement that he was against PBSA and didn’t agree with abortions personally. It was the beginning of his journey to pro-life, which has been a consistent path.

Tax the rich. Trump wants to fix the inequities in the tax code that allow the rich to avoid being taxed while the poor & middle class are taxed at a higher effective rate. Hedge fund operators etc.

Touchback Amnesty. This is an untrue characterization of Trump’s position. Trump says we will allow back the illegal immigrants that are in America’s best interest and that they may have to wait a significant time. While it feels satisfying to think that we can root out 20-30 million people and send them packing I think that getting out the criminals, the ones on welfare and those who are unwilling to commit to America would be a good start. Getting them out of the shadows and paying taxes would also improve our bottom line as would making English our official language and requiring its use in schools & driving.

Tranny bathrooms. Another false characterization. Trump said nothing that was wrong. He said that the creation of a third type of bathroom would be a large & unnecessary expense and that there were laws on the books to protect against people who misused bathrooms. There have obviously been transvestites using opposite sex bathrooms for decades and as long as they looked and acted the part who knew or cared. What is the recourse, strip searches, ID chips? I don’t want the Government patrolling the bathrooms. We are creating problems where we have been dealing with the situations already. The problem isn’t Trump its the politically correct hacks who cave and ignore the rights of the majority.

Single payer healthcare. In 2000 Trump said that SPHC had worked in Scotland and Canada but wouldn’t work in America. At one point Trump suggested that a system modeled on the Senate healthcare system, with it >60 offerings could have worked in America, but in 2004 said that the time for that had passed if it had ever been possible.

Trump’s healthcare plan like most of the foregoing is well outlined on his website and in quotes on the website On The Issues. His plan is private health insurance with an emphasis on HSA, bid across state lines. He wants to have a Medicare/Medicaid like plan for the indigent.

So did you really think that no one on FR would punch your ticket with your laundry list of half truths and total Mischaracterizations or did you just let the media tell you what to believe instead of doing the legwork to find the candidates positions over the years?

"..... we don't know because Cruz's records are sealed "

What records of his are sealed?

How do we know that his records are sealed?

I did read the Anna Tomerlin site and those questions kept on bugging me.

One thing I did notice is that Cruz and obama are extremely similar and my conclusion was, voting for cruz would be voting for obama.

“Damn, man, give me some credit.” “
Do you really think I needed to be told that?”

That was a clarification and emphasis on the qualifications for natural born citizenship for the readers of the thread and not for you.

If you actually READ what I posted, you will easily see that it is NOT "my opinion", but rather that of THE GOVERNMENT OF THE USA !

You're just posting your own fetid opinion.

Well, like I said, this Vattel stuff has never been a real issue for the vast majority of Americans. We have been doing fine for over 50 presidential elections and I wouldn't expect any major changes soon.

It's just not a burning issue. If an ineligible candidate runs, he'll lose.

Talk to the US government. Being descended from a Spanish speaking country is enough to get you classified as a Hispanic by race. It’s dumb.

So you said,  "Neither parent was a citizen of the US at the time of his birth."

In other words, you have no proof.  Is that correct?

I'd say, if you are going to make statements like that, the burden of proof is on you. If you can't prove it, don't say it.  After all, it wasn't presented as an opinion.

Actually, you’ve very clearly stated many times that you are right and that someone in government agrees with you. It just isn’t persuading me. I have been guided by the Constitution and its provision.

“Since Cruz renounced his Canadian citizenship, about the only place to deport him to would be Cuba. If he can survive the raft trip over here again, we can get the legal process in order for him to be a citizen.”

Don’t provide any new ideas to the jokesters responsible for the jokes about lawyers and cruise ships....

Yes, you're getting it now. I am posting MY opinion. YOU are posting YOUR opinion. And, when I vote, I rely upon MY opinion. And, when you vote, you should rely upon YOUR opinion.
