Lindsey Ellefson writes at Mediaite: It was the ad that launched a thousand blog posts. Liz Mair of Make America Awesome appeared on CNN Tonight to talk to Don Lemon about the infamous ad featuring Melania Trump that spurred Donald Trump into attacking Heidi Cruz. Trump blamed Cruz for the initial attack on his wife in spite of the fact that it was done by the Make America Awesome superPAC. Mair responded to that by telling Lemon, “The truth is it’s me. It’s just me.” When asked if Cruz had any involvement in the ad, she said this...

Eight people have been arrested for trespassing during a climate change protest outside Ted Cruz's Houston home. Around 70 activists staged a demonstration outside the Texas Senator's $2million property in the ritzy River Oaks neighborhood on Monday morning, before police were called to the scene. The protest was held by the Sunrise Movement, an organization advocating for political action on climate change, with video showing some of the participants sitting on Cruz's front lawn and refusing to budge. Police negotiated with some of the activists for more than an hour, and threatened to take them into custody if they did...

The group chat was labelled “XXXX Lovelies” (presumably the name of their street); it included some of the women in the Cruz family’s neighbourhood. The subject was the cold weather they were experiencing in Texas, but it quickly turned to going away, when Heidi, the wife of Republican Senator Ted Cruz, asked whether any of the families were up for a trip to Cancun. The Cruz family getaway, of course, went viral, and the Texas senator, 50, faced fierce backlash after pictures emerged of the couple and their two daughters, Caroline, 12, and Cathryn, 10, flying out of the state...

In the texts, Heidi Cruz noted that rooms were just $309 per night at the resort and that the venue had good security. She detailed a potential trip from Wednesday through Sunday, with direct flights to and from Cancun. Cruz’s offer reportedly drew little interest from neighbors. The senator’s wife offered the group help if they needed. "We have gas stove so at least we can heat water little that there is happy to help anyone we can too," she wrote. Representatives for Cruz did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the texts. Images of the senator’s...

After a brief lull, the hot summertime trend of protesting politicians over dinner is back in full force. Last night, a group of protesters tracked down Senator Ted Cruz and his wife at an Italian spot in D.C. and confronted him over Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court until the senator was forced to leave. The restaurant in question has been identified as Fiola, an exceedingly pricey restaurant, which Washington Post restaurant critic Tom Sietsema has called “the most glamorous place in the city to twirl pasta.” But conservatives and supporters of Senator Cruz don’t feel the same way...

Washington (CNN)Texas Republican Sen. Ted Cruz told supporters at a rally on Saturday that Democrats wanted to make Texas like California and listed off a few things as stereotypical staples of the blue state. "We are seeing tens of millions of dollars flooding into the state of Texas from liberals all over the country who desperately want to turn the state of Texas blue," Cruz said. "They want us to be just like California, right down to tofu and silicon and dyed hair." Cruz added that his wife, Heidi Cruz, was "a California vegetarian." "She's wonderful, but I brought her...

“I wasn't in the meeting with the president so I don’t know what he did or didn't say. I can tell you my family, Heidi as a child lived in Africa, she lived in Kenya and Nigeria. Her parents were missionaries there. My brother-in-law has been a missionary with his wife and sons in Haiti for many years,” Cruz said. President Trump denied using the vulgarity. “The language used by me at the DACA meeting was tough, but this was not the language used. Never said anything derogatory about Haitians other than Haiti is, obviously, a very poor and troubled...

While Goldman is best known for creating the revolving door, where it either soaks up SEC "regulators", spawns countless central bankers, Treasury Secretaries like Hank Paulson (whose departure from the firm allowed him a tax free cash out on his vested GS equity), NJ governors and client fund comminglers like Jon Corzine, a new function was revealed today: providing sabbaticals for the spouses of presidential candidates. Case in point: Heidi Cruz, who left Goldman Sachs last year to help her husband Ted Cruz in his quest for the Republican presidential nomination, is returning to the bank in a newly created...

Heidi Cruz, wife of Texas Senator Ted Cruz, was reportedly rushed out of the Republican National Convention on Wednesday night after the crowd turned on her husband at the end of his speech. Boos rained down on Ted Cruz as he issued a speech calling for people to vote on their "conscience" and declining to officially endorse Donald Trump, despite loud calls for him to do so from the crowd. With her is Ken Cuccinelli, the former attorney general of Virginia, who has also been firmly anti-Trump. Cuccinelli reportedly confirmed to journalists that he helped Heidi Cruz leave the scene...

In an oddly ironic twist, today Donald Trump announced that he has picked as chairman of his newly launched fundraising operation none other than a former employee of the bank he has repeatedly criticized in the past, and which he used as a foil to criticize Ted Cruz: Goldman Sachs. Trump announced that heading up his own personal fundraising operation as national finance chairman will be Steven Mnuchin, a long-time business associate, chairman and CEO of the hedge fund Dune Capital. More importantly, however, he spent 17 years at Goldman Sachs where he was most recently a Partner, having built...

GREENFIELD, Ind. — At a campaign stop just days before the critical Indiana primary, Heidi Cruz, wife of Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, said one of her husband's strengths in the campaign is that he "is an immigrant." The Real Ted Cruz is a Bush-Man. Worked a long time for Bush and met Heidi while she worked for Condi Rice. He would have you think he is an outsider. Its all been crafted. He will never build the wall, deport illegals. Remember he wanted a 500% H1B visa increase. He was for amnesty before he saw Rubio go down the tubes and made a course correction.

The two leading Republican candidates for president warn the U.S. stock market is trading at an alarming level. On Friday, Ted Cruz predicted a stock market "crash will be coming." Donald Trump calls it a "terrible time" to invest. "We're in a bubble right now," Trump says. It's a high degree of fear from a party that is normally viewed as pro-business and pro Wall Street. Trump recently told The Washington Post that America is on track for a "very massive recession."
