How bad was Cruz’s night? He’s losing to Ben Carson in some places — a guy who hasn’t been in the race in weeks.
Cruz can still win the nomination on the first convention ballot, mind you, but he needs to win about 88.5 percent of the outstanding delegates, bound or unbound, per Daniel Nichanian’s excellent calculations. That's not likely to happen either.
Trump isn’t the only big winner tonight! Congratulations to John Kasich, who will almost certainly end up with his first delegate in more than a month. Can Kasich pull off a come-from-behind victory? No. The end.

Last year at this time, I was all Cruz all the time. He was an “outsider” even tho he (and his wife) BOTH have strong Bush career ties.
Then came his millionaires screed about his family NOT having health coverage because of blah, blah, blah...but ooopsie, his wife carried a Goldman Sachs Audi Plan (waaaay better than a US Senators Cadillac Plan).
And the Hidey Cruz sitting on the Committee for Foreign Relations and they pesky North American Union they are pushing.
And the (forgetten) millions dollar loan from Goldman Sachs.
And the religious family, living apart (DC & TX) and their daughters being (proudly raised by nannies!)....
And his NEVER seeing a trade bill (that further harms the US manufacturing sector) that he didn’t vote for....
And the “Voter Warnings” in Iowa. And the dirty trick on Ben Carson (IA) and Marco Rubio (PR)....
Throw in some sanctimonious preaching, the whole “Chosen One” rhetoric...and I go back to my original thoughts...
AMERICANS are DONE with FAKES.
Trump is what he is. A successful business man and political outsider.

I’ve been telling my misguided Cruzer friends basically the same thing for the last 7 months but they refuse to accept it. Then they get mad as hell for me even suggesting it. It simply boggles my mind how stubborn Cruzers are.
Cruz-E supporters will be in the denial stage for a few more weeks i am afraid.. but give them a break.. we need those votes in the general..
My old NYC neighborhood current vote count has 2,600 votes for Clinton and 300 for Trump.
