Donald Trump jumps to an 18-point lead over Ted Cruz this week with record high support for the Republican nomination.

Trump tops Cruz by 45-27 percent among GOP primary voters in a new Fox News national poll on the 2016 election. John Kasich comes in third with 25 percent.

Forty-five percent is a new high for Trump. The previous high was last month’s 41 percent.

Everybody still assumes that Shrillary will be the nominee.

Frankly, I think the Democrat convention will be more "exciting" than the Republican one.

It is very likely that Bernie will have slightly more "won" delegates and that Shrillary will require her super delegates to put her over the top. This will NOT sit well with the Bernie crowd, who will feel, and rightly so, that the nomination is being stolen from their guy by establishment parlor tricks.

It will be chaos. It will be anarchy. It will be so much fun to watch...from a distance.

I agree. Meggie wants to make up because who wants to be on the outs with the possible next President of the US?

Son in law...sorry

The long machine was the elites selling populism to depression era Louisiana poor all over the state though his base was the midstate where coonass met redneck or French met Anglo

That machine lasted till the 80s and combined Democrat party and organized crime like Carlos Marcello

Maybe the Dems will “draft” Biden, “to save the party”.

I personally don’t think that Biden could beat Trump, if he is the R nominee.

LOL, for a whole damn week we’ve been flooded with “Trump’s got no ground game” and “Cruz is surging” articles.

Now it turns out it was ALL bunk.

Surprise, surprise.

Where have all the Cruzbots gone, long time passing?
Where have all the Cruzbots gone, long time ago?
Where have all the Cruzbots gone?
Donald beat them everyone.
Oh, when will they ever learn?
Oh, when will they ever learn?

Loved it!

I’ve been saying this for weeks...the more the American people see Ted Cruz, the more they dislike him..

Could it be a summer of discontent, with millions descending on both cities for the conventions? It wouldn't surprise me.

You're correct, of course. The Democrat's primary is even more rigged than the 'pubs.

Sounds like Cruz’s (or the GOPe’s) stunt in Colorado didn’t work out as planned...

Trump will easily win in NY. If Angry Santa pulls off the upset, the Superdelegates may start to reconsider supporting the Wicked Witch.

The whole “Hope & Change” thing with Zero has left some people gun shy of ANYONE promising change. Clinton and Kasick are the “status quo” candidates.

Huey Long was a mean ugly bastard and was not assassinated .
Long was shot for the truly ugly comments and rumors he made about his political rival’s daughter around in Baton Rouge .He accused her of being a whore .
Well , that lady had a husband who decided to shut up Huey Long ugly mouth for good.Back then Men took their wife’s reputation seriously .
Good Riddance .
