The Republican Establishment is Worse Than Trump

There are a lot of things I could say about Donald J. Trump, but he isn’t responsible for 95% of the problems the Republican Party has today. Do you want to know who is responsible for most of the problems in the Republican Party? It’s the Republican Establishment.

“But John, there is no Republican Establishment! In fact, I’d like to see somebody actually name some names. Why don’t you name the Republican Establishment! Dare you…”

Okay, just to name a few: Mitch McConnell, John Cornyn, John Boehner, Eric Cantor, Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, Paul Ryan, Kevin McCarthy, Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Karl Rove, Jennifer Rubin, David Brooks, George Will, Jon Kyl, John McCain, Lindsey Graham, Jeb Bush, Peter King and the whole damn NRSC.

Being part of “the establishment” is more than just having power in the Republican Party or alternately being obsequious to the people in power; it’s a contemptuous attitude toward the concerns of grassroots conservatives and Americans in flyover country.

It’s an attitude that says…

I totally agree. But in my estimation, Trump fits right in with the GOP Establishment.

He has been as supportive of the Liberal democrats Obama, Clintons, Reid Pelosi, et al) as they have been.

Agreed. The Democrats are at least honest when they set out to destroy America. The Republican establishment pretends to represent the peopel who elect them - and then join up with the Democrats to destroy the nation and divide up the loot between themselves.

My feelings about Trump one way or the other are irrelevant to my basic feeling of betrayal by the Republican Establishment. These traitors have been stabbing us in the back for decades - much longer than Trump has been on the political scene. My opinion of them would still be the same had he not even run.

If Trump has been such a loyal Liberal, what are the liberals I know so enraged by him? They hate both Trump and Cruz.

supportive of republicans too or does that evade you?

The establishment are fighting tooth and nail to take out Trump, hell they are now with Cruz on their team to take out Trump

When the establishment backs someone to take someone out then I know I am for the guy who the establishment is against.

I see a win win situation for November. Either we have a massive turn out which Trump win or if Trump lose badly, he take out most the Republicans in congress with him. Republicans need to be punished

That's only because you're looking through the mail order purist glasses you received from the RNC

There is NO perfection on earth and there are no true Conservatives ... certainly not on as grand a scale as is being implied by the anyone but Trump meme

America has slid down so far it will take massive effort to reach us and pull us up and out and Trump is the only bull in THAT china shop

I personally believe that if he caN accomplish what he wants in the first term, he'll get out and lay around with his lovely trophy wife, cruising the islands or whatever .. in a safer world he helped to re-create

His ego may still be big, but there is a lot of physical that must accompany ego to do fantastic things and whether anyone wants to admit it or not ... my man is ageing

The GOPe had better hope that this headline doesn’t change to The Republican Establishment is Worse Than Hillary. OTOH, maybe that is what they want if they cannot select the nominee.

Nobody is worse than Trump.

Here in NYC we have endured this corrupt slug for decades. His father built his fortune on government subsidies and having corrupt politicians in his pocket. Donald inherited his fathers millions and his penchant for cronyism.

He has also left a trail of wreckage wherever he has set foot.

He bought the Plaza for $550 million then sold it a few years later for $350 million, leaving his creditors holding the bag. He bought the Eastern Shuttle, which was a successful enterprise charging $19 each way from NY to Boston, and and bankrupted it by turning it into a “Luxury” service. Alexander’s department stores...

Have any of you been to one of those phony real estate seminars where they flim-flam people with promises of certain riches if they spend thousands on workshops and boot camps? That was TRUMP UNIVERSITY!

This scumbag is the poster boy for insider political cronyism and he’s running as the outsider.

I am befuddled.

Depends which Dems you’re talking about. The GOPe has a DEMe counterpart. The two are subparts of one big establishment, engaging in this kabuki dance in DC.

Our present liberals are the 21th century version of the Brownshirts. They get their orders about who they are supposed to hate and march in lock step and do it. They are incapable of thought and must be told what they are supposed to think. I blame this on a educational system that does not educate but indoctrinates.

Your talking points are a bit stale. Name one billionaire who does not give to both sides? It is called payoffs and is smart business.

Pray America wakes

Yes, yes, yes!!!

I have been saying this for months.

The most important objective for November 2016 should be utter and complete annihilation of the rotten and corrupt GOP. The Republican Party should be thrown into the garbage heap of history where it so deservedly belongs.

So true. All Bernie and Hillary have to do to further their class warfare arguments is to point to the rich establishment and say “See, the rich look out only for themselves and don’t give a damn about the people citizens.”

The GOPe establishment has served that up for them on a silver platter.

Trump fits right in no question

That explains why the donor class are spending over 100,000,000 in record defeat trump ad buys in the upcoming primaries

They always spend 100 MILLION PLUS in a week on TV and radio and robocalls to defeat someone they like

They have made a tactical decision that at least Cruz is controllable even if prone to public consumption grandstanding for effect

That Cruziacs cling to this fantasy that Trump is establishment and Cruz is Preacher from Pale Rider just shows they will believe whatever they have to

And let us not forget (let's NEVER, EVER forget) all those supposed "conservatives" who have stated that they would vote for Hillary if Trump wins.

Yes, let's make a list of all their names, and never consider them to be on our side, ever again.

The Establishment Republicans are only worse then Democrats if you want to get a decent job, not have to compete with the gloBULL hoard and have sound economic policy. Other than that the Establishment Republicans are OK.
