Is Donald Dumbing It Down for the Trumpsters?
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | Feb 29, 2016 | Rush Limbaugh/Caller

RUSH: Here's Sally in Columbus. She's been waiting awhile. I appreciate that. And how are you?

CALLER: Fine. How are you, Rush?

RUSH: Very well. Thank you very much.

CALLER: Thanks for taking my call. Just as a... You know, you have always led us conservatives through some pretty dark times. And there were few places to turn. You never let us down. You always gave us perspective and truth. So I just kind of wanted to say that. But to get to my point, you know, last week you were discussing Trump and the way he talked about "we have to get rid of the lines around the state" during the debate. Well, I have a different take on that. Not only did he say it that way -- and you suggested it was because of his advisors that were kind of, you know, doing a tutorial for him for interstate insurance commerce.

And then also, the thing that bothers me is that when he comments regarding his and the Democrats touchback program -- which is theoretically what it is when he said we're going to do: Send them back and let the good ones back in -- you know, Trump isn't this inarticulate. I think he does it to dumb down his speech. I think he does it to mislead and not have to give explanations. And it keeps his comments kind of on the remedial side. And that's how I look at this. I know it's different from what you think, but it's how I feel. I think he's talking to a base that he doesn't have a lot of confidence in.

You really really believe this country is going to build a wall across the whole southern border (not counting the lakes etc) Really? I can’t believe that people genuinely believe that.

The GOPe are threatening to back Hillary over Trump while accusing their “base” of being racists and Klansmen. That will destroy the “Party Of Lincoln” forever. A political upheaval not seen in America since the Civil War.

After that, things will get very, very interesting indeed....

This 'I could shoot somebody and they'd still love me' crap is really a demonstration of how much contempt Trump feels for his supporters. Con artists routinely drop such comments in plain sight just for a cheap thrill. They use it as internal justification for screwing the mark, effectively , 'If they're that dumb they deserve it...'

Even his admirers say he's totally different in private, albeit the impression they get is complementary. Yet they should take the hint that the man is a chameleon.

When he confessed to secret meetings with Chuck Schumer and Rineo to tamp down the opposition to AMNESTY— He lost me. I am only listening to Laura Ingram and the great Michael Savage now.

You really believe we can continue to exist if we don’t?

You have to understand... I’m not saying it’s a bad idea. I’m saying it isn’t going to happen.... and I can’t believe that some people really really believe that it is.

Wait rush WANTS Rubio to win? Where is that?

Shirley, you jest! (from the movie Airplane).
Decided I had better add the additional information since
you seem to be unable to connect the dots.

See that’s the issue. It’s not like we don’t realize Trump is going to win. It’s that we realize he’s a circus clown and duping many of us. I get the whole I’m pissed at all republicans so I’m sending this clown in. That’s fine, but anyone who truly believes Trump is a conservative is either dumb or lying to themselves.

“When he confessed to secret meetings with Chuck Schumer and Rineo to tamp down the opposition to AMNESTY— He lost me.”

And at the time came out with his “lets me them legal but they can’t vote” suggestion. Something he now claims was a ‘Poison Pill’. Rush is a LIAR.

So you’re saying a country that landed on the moon can’t build a wall across it’s southern border?

That would be preposterous.

Unless of course we didn’t actually la...

Er, never mind.

My understanding is that Trump doesn’t hob-nob with the rich and famous as much as he hangs out with the average Joe. according to his son, he prefers everyday average people.

Oh, his son said that, it must be true. Do you really believe that?

There is no doubt RL is a pioneer who has stated some truly brilliant things. In fact, I started listening to him back in 1987ish. In fact, I turned him off once Barry was elected, because as far as I am concerned he helped give us BO and thus all that has come with that result. Recently, he has clearly crossed a line from so-called entertainer to political operative with his veiled Rubio endorsement. The only “dumbing down” is RL believing this will not be noticed and/or forgiven.

Yeah I disagree with Rush on that. Rubio is the classical GOPe type person. A good mix of Conservatism with a whole lot of sellout to win “friends” and media.

Cruz appears as the biggest real deal since Reagan and in fact in many ways better than Reagan. But to be honest what he lacks most is a good voice and inspirational speaking pattern. If he could just Rubio’s gift of speaking he would be really formidable. That’s the one think I do like about Rubio—he’s easy to listen to he speaks well without a teleprompter but he sounds like he’s giving a speech every time. He has a gift in that area.

Trump has a gift to know how to win. But it’s win at any cost which isn’t good.

A wall of about 900 miles. A wall that was ordered to be built by Congress in 2006 I believe. Geography obviates the need to build more than a 900 mile wall.

BTW, if we can’t build a wall along the southern border, what CAN we do? We went to the moon in 1969 and the Space Shuttles are history. We have to “rent” rockets to make space launches. We haven’t won a war since 1945 yet we have thousands and thousands of war dead and disabled veterans. We sent our manufacturing overseas. We are a Welfare State with open borders. Our towns are dying and drug addiction is a scourge from sea to shining sea.

This cannot stand. What do YOU suggest we do to rescue a nation hurtling towards collapse? Vote for Rubio? Hillary? What?

He is as conservative as Ronald Reagan.

Perhaps you would like to rewrite History, but there are
many things (I could list if you would like), that Reagan did that was NOT considered conservative during the 1980’s.

Trump is very light on policy (as far as what I’ve seen in video) and yes speaks in a “dumbed down” manner. Maybe he doesn’t know policy very well? But I’m sure he’ll get someone to handle that who’s “GREAT”.

I’d rather have a higher policy discussion than we’ll “build a wall” and “make America great” HOW?? In what ways, give me plans, details, etc..

It does get tiring from Donald Trump.
