Chris Stigall: Stop Blaming Ted Cruz For Ben Carson Rumors
CBS News ^ | February 4, 2016 | Chris Stigall

Posted on 02/05/2016 8:40:21 AM PST by GodGunsGuts

Philadelphia (CBS) – Chris Stigall criticized presidential candidates Ben Carson and Donald Trump for blaming Ted Cruz after rumors were spread by his supporters in the moments before the Iowa Caucus that Carson was dropping out and returning home to Florida.

Stigall, on Talk Radio 1210 WPHT, said this entire controversy is Carson’s fault for running such a poor campaign and making mistakes that can be exploited by his opponents.

“These people are in perpetual, constant dog fights. On the mic, off the mic, on the camera, off the camera, on Twitter, they’re never off, they’re never off, they never go away. You certainly do not go away before votes have been cast in the first state in the union to vote. You don’t get on a plane and say, I’m going home for some R and R, I’ll catch you Thursday at the prayer breakfast. You are a political neophyte if you’re out there crying in your beer for Ben Carson. I’m more irritated at Carson than I am Trump, actually. Carson out there [saying] that’s a dirty trick. No, you’re a bad, bad candidate Doctor, and I respect you a lot sir. I think you’re brilliant man, a man of God. But that is a stupid, stupid campaign move at this level. And to blame it on Cruz? Please.”

“So if I leave my front door unlocked, and a robber comes in a robs me, is it my fault that i was robbed?”

No, but if you pile up your stuff at the road with a “FREE” sign, well...don’t be surprised if its gone tomorrow.

The CNN Breaking News could have been verified instantly, if Carson was my guy and another canidate implys he’s out, I would have checked it out. No one was duped.

Also, I will vote for Carson or Trump or Cruz if they survive savageing each other. (and cause Rubio to be elected)

Carson has not been running a serious campaign. After he refused to refute Trump’s baseless allegations in November, he has been sinking.

I won’t be surprised, but you correct. Just because a person creates the opportunity for a crime to occur, or in this case an exploit, does not make them responsible for the crime or exploit committed.

The criminal or the exploiter is the responsible party.

There was no crime, Carson was too stupid to manage his own campaign.

To believe that Cruz “stole” through a forwarded TWEET, you have to believe that a video or a cartoon causes Islamic terrorism.

I never said that there was.

And you can’t blame Carson for Ted Cruz’s choice, or Rubio’s choice for that matter.

They are opportunists, and they chose to exploit an opportunity.

That is who they are. Know them.

The rumors of Carson dropping out are totally believable. Carson will drop out because he cannot win. He peaked ages ago, it’s been downhill ever since. I would have bought into it too. So what? Why vote for someone who cannot win?

Sobbing and moaning about this five days after Cruz won... simply keeps reminding people that Cruz won. It is another political missfire by the Carson campaign, demonstrating once again why running for president is not a good place to learn the ropes on how to campaign for office.

Maybe because you support them?

People can also be considered for VP choices based upon performance and other factors.

If Carson wants to sip tea on his back porch then you can talk about crime and leaving the door open.

If Carson wants to run for president, he is responsible to run a strong campaign and not stumble into situations like this. It was a stupid move on Carson’s part and one that would be much less likely to be made if he had run a successful campaign under his belt... but he wants to run for president as a rookie.

Rookie mistake, rookie results.

I love these threads too.

Cruz is off message having to deal with this Carson scandal.

I hope we are talking about it for another two weeks.

He did not apologize for forwarding the CNN story to his field staff. Cruz said that this practice is perfectly normal and fair game. Rather, Cruz apologized for his campaign not doing a better job of letting his field staff know that it was later reported that Ben Carson clarified that he was not taking a break from the race.

Big difference!

Wow this story surely has legs. Have Steve King, Rick Tyler, and Bob Vander Plaats been disciplined yet? Ted still has time to clean up the mess he created before the debate tomorrow.
