Posted on 02/01/2016 3:07:17 PM PST by markomalley

A search shows that nobody's opened up a live thread for tonight's caucuses. So here goes.

Predictions? For both the GOP and Dem nominations?

Eyewitness Accounts? See any funny business going on?

Sanders is running a good ground game. Republicans are always behind in the turn out arena when it counts.

Just back from my caucus site in Iowa. My precinct is rural/suburban, small town just outside of Ames. Typically votes evangelical, then libertarian. One of the most Republican precincts in the county (Story, home of Iowa State University) Not a lot of establishment types here.

there were speakers prior to voting for Carson, Cruz, Fiorina, Paul, Rubio, Santorum and Trump.

We were done with local votes counted by 8:10, with 157 attending. Only 154 turned in ballots. My precinct was votes:

Cruz 56, Trump 40, Rubio 23, Carson 14, Fiorina 5, Paul 3, Huck 3, Bush 3, Santorum 3, Undecided 3, Christie 1, Kasich 0, Gilmore 0.

FYI, 121 Dems showed up in my precinct. Sanders won, but not sure by how much.

Umm... maybe he’s leading because he’s getting more votes?

Don’t rule out reality.

.
Rubio will overtake Trump.

Trump is losing them AFTER they have entered the caucus rooms.

“I think Rubio, Christie, Bush and Kasich votes all total represent the establishment vote. That’s all the pull they have in Iowa. It will be tougher elsewhere.”

That’s hopeful!

Also, I think Trump’s supporters will be even more fired up after tonight, if that’s possible.

The all the polls show that both Cruz and Rubio beat both Trump and Hillary in one one ones. Trump loses.

Seen enough. Cruz wins Iowa, Trump lucky if he finishes second.

Going forward:

Cruz, if nominated loses to THE FIRST WOMAN Hillary in a landslide, so the GOPe/Media pushes Jeb replacement Marco Rubio to have a chance to win in Nov. Sen. Tim Scott of SC announced tonight his endorsement of THE FIRST LATINO Rubio as the GOPe/Uni-Party readies for SC and Super Tuesday.

In summary, slick politicians remain Amerika’s favorite and “Identity Politics” wins.

REAL Christians know the difference.

LOL ..nominate Cruz and we will lose guaranteed ... the snake handling bit only works in a few select places

Clearly it doesn't sell at your place.

But snake oil on the the other hand seems to sell very well.

“IMHO - Anyone who thinks a Cruz win tonight is a good thing is delusional. He will lose in epic fashion in the general. This is just my opinion.”

I don’t know. His personality is much less loathsome than Willard’s and Cruz actually is convincing on some conservative issues, and Willard was closer than I expected. I think Cruz would win the general. Then we would see that he is indistinguishable from the Bush machine from which he arose.

I think Rubio came across as the adult in the room compared to the constant Beavis and Butthead act that Trump-Cruz had become.

Rubio is definitely the "None Of The Above" candidate tonight. It's probably best not to speculate too much beyond that.
