This is the Cruz that ran to Levin’s show today and said how afraid Trump must be.

I don’t blame him All of the candidates will be on Trump attack mode and so will the moderators. If I was the frontrunner I would do the same thing. I have been in this situation before and invited to some meeting which I felt was nothing but a set up. I told them to go pound sand rather than be subjected to such nonsense.

As it turned out it was the right move on my part as it will be proven that it is the right move on Trump’s part.

“It would be too painful to watch him stammer and make a fool of himself and Cruz would skillfully expose him for the liberal Democrat he really is at heart.”

What do you want, a lawyer who is trained to be a good debater but hasn’t had a real job in his lifetime other than being a lawyer and a politician, or a businessman who is a doer and built a real estate empire worth billions in his 30 year lifetime of work? I’ll take the businessman outside of the establishment any day.

Heaven knows why you would want yet another lawyer for President. Good with words but do nothing. Both Clintons, Hillary and Bill are lawyers; both Obamas, Michelle and Barak are lawyers, and you want yet another one for President? I think you’re nutz.

Interesting you say that. Cruz just told Levin if he (Cruz) is so stupid then he should have no problem debating. He just asked Trump to debate him for 90 minutes on Levin’s show. Lincoln syle.

Trump is taking the “necessary” out of the media’s status as a “necessary evil”. Courageous and brilliant. And a move which will cause serious harm to the DC establishment.

Maybe he will show up - would not surprise me. In any case, as Krauthammer just pointed out, it is a brilliant move by Trump since now all talk center on him - and other candidates get less attention.

Then later on in the presser I believe I heard Trump say he would definitely not do the debate.

From the Washington Post that directly quotes Corey Lewandowski:

Rand Paul refused to participate in the loser tier debate last time, and look where he is now. He played hardball and is back on the main stage.

The only bigger stage the Trump could hope for is one by himself. Maybe Trump could do one by himself on the Cartoon Network where he could debate himself on all his own abandoned liberal positions.

who might drop out of the entire race on a dime if he feels like it.

Yes, why waste a vote on an unreliable coward like this who might not even make it to the finish line? Too much of a risk to nominate the guy.

True but Trump will want an official phone call from Cruz. That is how a businessman operates. If Cruz doesn’t then the request isn’t taken seriously. All Cruz needs to do is pick up the phone. Hearing it on some radio show that Trump may not even listen to especially now is probably not enough of an invitation for him. Perhaps Thursday night if Cruz would drop out of the debate would be the perfect opportunity for this.

Here for your and others' benefit is the bigger, accurate picture:

Trump explained one of the causes for his decision was a press release from Fox News and that proclaimed he won't be toyed with like "everybody else."

See, the point is with me they're dealing with somebody that's a little bit different. They can't toy with me like they toy with everybody else. Let them have their debate and let's see how they do with the ratings. And I told them, give money to the Wounded Warriors, and give money to the veterans. They're going to make a fortune with the debate. Let's see how many people watch. We'll have our own event, we'll raise some money for the Wounded Warriors. We'll raise money for the vets. When they sent out the wise-guy press releases a little while ago. I was set to do the debate. I came here to do the debate. When they sent out the wise-guy press releases a little while ago done by some PR person along with Roger Ailes, I said bye-bye, OK?

He can always cover for Hitlery while she's gone on potty break....

Trump can discuss his tax plan since it has more in common with Bernie Sanders than anyone in the GOP debate.

Ted Cruz just called the Mark Levin Show and challenged Trump to a one on one debate if Levin would allow the air time/ Levin agreed and said the challenge is there for Trump to accept or hide from.
