The Hollywood Reporter ^ | January 23, 2016 | Ryan Parker

Tina Fey gave her fans what they were hoping for all week.

Fey returned to Saturday Night Live to once again play former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin on the heels of the political commentator's endorsement of Donald Trump.

Fey appeared as Palin in the cold open alongside the GOP presidential candidate, played by fellow SNL veteran Darrell Hammond.

Yiddish word, sort of nerdy and not in a good way.

Although I cannot stand her, she does have the voice down really good. The slang, inflection, emphasis, tone and delivery cadence is uncanny.

SNL appears to be all she’s got, her movies keep bombing out at the box office.

First, SNL is still on? I quit watching like season three and switched to something funny, SCTV. I vaguely recall hearing of this Fey person around 2008, but since I severely limit my TV viewing to a handful of shows I think that was the last time.

Why doesn't the ideology of the left get mocked on television. When will a tv show, or late night talk show start up with writers that find it necessary to mock the left as a mainstream norm?

When pigs fly?

Hey everybody, Palin is fair game in the political spectrum, just like all the candidates. The skit was funny. What did you expect anyway, this is SNL,

Palin doesn't help her own cause with her shrill voice and stupid accent. Can't she train herself out of it? It's a national joke, and she is not a dumb woman.

I remember reading a commentary from Lorne Michaels and he was asked about the reactions to their political skits. He said that Republicans are OK with them, they generally think most are funny. He said Democrats get hurt and offended when they are sent up. And let’s face it, those on SNL are all Dems, so why would they want to ‘insult’ their own? We DVR SNL, hoping for a little entertainment. But these days we rarely take much time to fast forward through the show. Nothing is funny on there anymore. (I just looked up Michaels to make sure that I was spelling his first name right......didn’t know his actual name is Lipowitz).

This will only increase Trump’s visibility and keep his name in the headlines.

Not bad, OF COURSE they were going to trash Sarah. They didn’t trash Trump even a little.

And when I was listening to Sarah on the radio, I did cringe at her little rhymes in her speech “holy rollers, rock and rollers” etc. that kind of folksy childish stuff WILL turn up on SNL and they have to know it.

One time in eight years. And they probably agreed with what Obama did anyway.

I know LOTS of people, even some Conservatives, who think Palin actually said ‘I can see Russia from my house’. I have to tell them ‘no, that was Tina Fey’. There are many people who are not very aware of the truth.

This is hilarious!

Agreed 100%. If you know anyone who says they have no reason to support any candidate, there's now a consideration. If four years of Trump as President and Palin as a cabinet secretary will mean SNL gets funny like this, quality of life will improve.

We aren't going to save the US without some humor.

I watched that bit this morning and just did not find it very funny. There was a time SNL was cutting edge and it’s satire was truly biting and funny. No longer, that bit was just tired.

I love Palin and Trump, but that was well done and funn-eee!

And it gives Trump a perfect right to continue mocking and making fun of his opponents (not that he needed it).

It’s all part of the game we play every 4 years, and we’ll see who has the last laugh in the end.

SNL has been around for 40 years and it has been a lot better and funnier. Sorry this was pretty lame to what SNL once was.

The sad thing is Sarah’s real speech is just as incoherent as Tina Feys parody. It’s hard to watch.

In Living Color was ten times funnier than SNL. Blacks used to be funny, then Rodney King happened and it all went downhill.

There’s desperation everywhere in the LSM over Trump. Especially at NBC because covering Establishment ass is their job one.
