News that former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin would endorse Donald Trump in the 2016 Republican presidential primary was first broken by people posting on an online chat forum, and not by members of the media.

“Palin is arriving to endorse Trump. You heard it here first,” one user, springwater13, declared, linking to a website that tracked the Iowa-bound flight.
I remember when I scooped Matt Drudge’s story on the blue dress.
He would pre-stage his articles at a specific URL, so I just grabbed an early copy of it and posted it on FR.
Most here were calling me a fake and phoney. But then when he released the story it was very similar to the one I posted. And after that Matt Drudge changed the way he releases articles :-)

Actually, it clearly mentions Free Republic; and also mentions that a Freeper Broke the story of Palin being McCains running mate.
