It did happen, and I saw it.
Donald Trump is telling the truth about Muslims celebrating in New Jersey on September 11, 2001.
I drove with family members though Patterson, N.J. that morning, after the planes hit. It's not the kind of thing you forget.
We witnessed people in traditional Muslim garb dancing, jumping, shouting and celebrating like their team had won the Super Bowl, just as Trump said.
"I watched when the World Trade Center came tumbling down," Trump said Saturday. "And I watched in Jersey City, N.J., where thousands and thousands of people were cheering as that building was coming down. Thousands of people were cheering."
Trump has refused to back off of those comments. He told ABC's George Stephanopoulos Sunday, "it did happen. I saw it."
Media outlets and politicians have been quick to call the Republican presidential front-runner a liar but the fact is it happened just like he said.
I didn't see thousands of Muslims celebrating but I absolutely saw a pocket, perhaps 100, jumping for joy at the sight of the smoke rising from where the Twin Towers used to be.
The funny part of the media-made controversy is that until Trump recalled his experience on that day, these events were a commonly accepted fact by Jerseyans.
Others in N.J. have spoken about witnessing these events.

Why the hell does the lamestream media and the government instantly deny this stuff? Are they such luddites that they don’t know that people have long memories and the internet??? Do they ever learn that people are not this stupid?
They probably just don't care since they control most of the media and will cover each other's butts.
It's a tribe thing. One of their own. Fighting the infidels and domination is part of the religion....the main part.

Notice the deniars are concentrating on Trumps claim of “thousands” of Muzzies celebrating (Brokaw among them) rather then if it happened at all.
Of course Trump is right. All one needs to do is review the fire department records on 9/11/01 for Paterson, Passaic, Fair Lawn and the various fire departments in Bergen and Essex counties. My nephew, a captain in the Passaic fire department was called at home to come in having just returned from his shift. He thought for sure he was being sent to Manhattan. No, he and likely 50-60 others with 8-10 engines from the aforementioned stations were called to Paterson. Many of the local Muslim population, mainly Palestinians, were celebrating and some were then attacked by local black patriots attempting to put down the partying. It was 5-6 hours before the streets were cleared. (BTW, one ‘t’ in Paterson, home of the original Colt Gun Works and the esteemed Paterson Revolver.)
I remember there was reporting about Muslims celebrating, then a backlash began- there were a couple of stories about people being targeted. As I remember there was a man killed in Arizona I think that was not Muslim or some mistaken belief that he was and President Bush even made a statement for people not to strike out. Then the stories about those that celebrated just stopped.
They’re pandering to that vile, vast portion of the population that were government schooled. They know these people are stupid.
People who send their kids to the government to be “educated” ARE the Genesis of everything that’s wrong with this nation.
They ARE the problem.
Most of what people saw was in Gaza and the West Bank. I remember those images clearly. I can see Mr Trump commingling the memories of those images for the ME and the stories about what was happening in NJ as one memory.
I can still remember thinking “where the hell are the cluster bombs, these people want a war, so be it”.
If the Muslims are so gung ho to die for their god, I suggest we start accommodating them. They are like Europe before WW1, they still think War is “glorious”. Until a few million of them die, this problem is not going to stop.
If there were large groups cheering and celebrating in just one section of New Jersey, there is little if any doubt that there would be thousands nationwide, given all the radical Muslim individuals and groups across the country.
If I was a conspiracy nut, I would think that media and Trump conspired together to have that denial.
This could have been a sort of 'sweep it under the rug' moment, but no, they insist on setting things up so Donald can talk about it on a very favorable basis for weeks, and maybe even months.
But also note that if they are just arguing over the numbers of Muslims in America cheering on 9/11, then Trump has won the argument. :)
To me the number shouldn’t matter...it happened and that is a fact and anyone would be hard pressed to put a number to those that celebrated. The thing is even one is one too many, those that celebrated 9/11 should have been shown the door.

I don’t know how many were cheering in Jersey (clearly lots, maybe not thousands); there were certainly “thousands” cheering overseas. Perhaps Trump conflated the two - the larger point is the one that matters: large numbers of Muslims, domestic and non-domestic, expressed support for the attacks on November 11.
What the exact numbers were matters less than the clear fact that followers of the “religion of peace” were supportive of the deliberate murder of innocent victims on 9-11; when Trump’s critics can tell us how we can distinguish domestic Muslims who support Jihadis from those who don’t, then I’ll willing to pay some attention to their hair-splitting on this issue.
Everybody keeps remembering seeing videos of Muslims in large numbers celebrating in NJ, but where are the videos? I live in NJ, and honestly I only remember people saying they saw it. I would like to see the actual videos if they’re out there. I don’t doubt that large numbers of Muslims in NJ were happy about it, but if large celebrations were really on TV somebody should have a copy to share.
I live in NJ and also don’t remember this either.
