Donald Trump is looking increasingly likely to win the Republican nomination in 2016 – and it may not even be close.
Four months after being widely dismissed as a celebrity candidate who would wither under scrutiny, Trump isn’t just defying political gravity. He’s powering past it as he expands his leads in both national polls and critical early voting states.
A new Reuters poll conducted mostly after the November 13 attacks in Paris found Trump with more than double the support of his nearest rival nationally, taking 36 percent of Republican primary voters to Ben Carson’s 14.6 percent. A Morning Consult poll released Tuesday showed the billionaire with an even loftier lead, polling 38 percent to Carson’s 19 percent as Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz languished in the single digits.
A University of Massachusetts survey released Monday shows a closer contest – but Donald Trump still manages to outpoll the fading Ben Carson by nine points.

Trump said Reagan was a con man who didn’t deliver the goods.
That was proved conclusively before, when Romney won the nomination.
I just want him in a BLOWOUT in the general election and send Hellary and Bubba into the ether world. I’m sick of her especially but take him along. They both should be in jail but I’d settle for not ever hearing about them again.

Trump will lose (the nominations) or I will eat this column.
In fact, I’m so certain Trump won’t win the nomination that I’ll eat my words if he does. Literally: The day Trump clinches the nomination I will eat the page on which this column is printed. I have this confidence for the same reason Romney does: Americans are better than Trump.
What a choice Trump or Jillary???? Only a total FOOL would vote for another Clinton.
We do not have much choices out there. Either it will be Trump or Cruz.
I’ve described him as “Mitt Romney with a backbone,” and standby that assessment still. I hope he’s better than that, but he may very well be the best this stupid country deserves at this point.
Okay then, Fox polls are corrupt and Reuters polls aren't.
Yeah he could, but it’s more than likely going to be Cruz, not Trump. But either of them would beat Hillary to a pulp in an election.
