Donald Trump Could Win the Republican Nomination in a Blowout

Donald Trump is looking increasingly likely to win the Republican nomination in 2016 – and it may not even be close.

Four months after being widely dismissed as a celebrity candidate who would wither under scrutiny, Trump isn’t just defying political gravity. He’s powering past it as he expands his leads in both national polls and critical early voting states.

A new Reuters poll conducted mostly after the November 13 attacks in Paris found Trump with more than double the support of his nearest rival nationally, taking 36 percent of Republican primary voters to Ben Carson’s 14.6 percent. A Morning Consult poll released Tuesday showed the billionaire with an even loftier lead, polling 38 percent to Carson’s 19 percent as Senators Marco Rubio and Ted Cruz languished in the single digits.

A University of Massachusetts survey released Monday shows a closer contest – but Donald Trump still manages to outpoll the fading Ben Carson by nine points.

Lots of time left to avoid another election of two Democrats running for President.

He could. But he might not.

If he wins, the promises he has made on so many things requires him to get busy and get results. He is good but working with Congress and then making Mexico write a check are two that I want to see happen. I just hope he is not setting himself up for failure promising the world. Obama tried that and his little liberals are not thrilled with him. Well see.

There is no could, unless something drastic happens he will not only win the nomination with a blowout, but will win the general election in a 1984 Reaganesque landslide fashion.

YOu will see the true color of the GOPe though when it becomes obvious he is going to win, they are going to do every dirty nasty underhanded thing to destroy him... they would rather have Hillary than this man.

He could — or he could falter between now and the convention. There is a lot happening, and a lot of the campaign yet to be played out.

Still a major thorn in his side, he ain’t the gopE guy. So, if he has the numbers, how far will the gopE go to ensure hildebeast wins?

I don’t think Jeb, Christie or Kasich have a chance, we probably won’t have to worry about it.

Obama tried that and his little liberals are not thrilled with him. Well see.

Obama hates America (and all of Western society) and wants to destroy it. Liberals (a few at least) are just now starting to get a clue about that.

“Trump would stomp Hillary.”

Hope you’re right, but after looking at ‘08 & ‘12, with the illiterate American electorate voting in the muzzie, one can have doubts.

Yet, if he ran again he would get at least 40% of that vote, just because.

As long as Trump is perceived as putting America First, he will continue to have huge support, even if congress stonewalls.

This is why Trump has the support he does, he is the only person who seems at his core to put America first.... period. Whether you agree with him or not, no one can seriously argue he is the only guy on either side of the aisle that is consistent in present what he wants as being America first, period.

Polls say that Trump has less chance of beating Hillary than other GOP candidates.

If we had a fair and balanced media but we do not. Plus we have an incredibly corrupt GOP who may do something so backstabbing that it would force Trump to go independent thus insuring Hitlerys victory.

I believe the proper term is "boot stomp" or "stump whip"....lacking those, "stomp" suffices

as ive said before - I look forward to an evening next year when I see a bespectacled exhausted troglodyte call Trump from Wassermans condo to congratulate him, only to have some third level campaign functionary tell her "What does it matter?"
