GOP vet: Trump win looking more and more likely
Washington Examiner ^ | Oct. 18, 2015 | ByronYork

"I've resisted the idea that Donald Trump could and would become the Republican nominee," writes GOP strategist Alex Castellanos in an email assessment of the presidential race. "Unhappily, I've changed my mind."

Castellanos, who once said flatly that "Trump is not going to be the nominee," writes "the odds of Trump's success have increased and been validated in the past few weeks."

On that we agree. It’s pretty much how it has to go down now. Question is—does Trump know this?

I sense that the GOPe is shifting to “Plan B,” which is to put a GOPe favorite in as VP.

Now what could possibly induce Obama to resign?

My guess is their plan “B” is to get Trumps “mind right”.

In a way, I think Alex is acting as a grown up, and manning up his error. Many other TV pundits such as George Will, Stephen Hayes, Jonah Goldberg, Eric Erickson etc. are still clinging to their GOPe benefactors.

FOX will come up with a poll showing Carson jumping way ahead of Trump.

His handlers at Rat Central HQ tell him to.

The question is, as the other dozen candidates drop out, will their supporters switch to Trump or one of the other remaining candidates.

Cruz doesn’t need to take away any of Trump’s votes to win the GOP nomination. He just needs to pick up most of the approximately 70% of GOP voters who do not support Trump.

Even after the 2014 elections, the Establishment was still clueless about the anger across the nation

Clueless or don't give a damn? Look at the Cochran situation. Black voters cynically being used, horribly so, to steal the primary nomination for Cochran. No pushback for the dems, even though they have increased chances if the incumbent was unseated. Why not?

So, look what happened. The disgusted voters, resoundingly so, across the US gave Republicans massive majorities. It would not have happened except more Constitutional Conservatives were elected to the US Senate and HOR and beyond that a lot of phonies campaigned as such, then backstabbed us.

The voters gave them enough rope, to either use as a lifeline or hang themselves. And how did they use it? To hang themselves. They're STILL trying to force feed us the despised Jeb (or a "plan B") vs hillary.

If they succeed, it's the end of the Republican Party and the end of the nation. The elite will retreat to their gated communities, private islands, and huge protected compounds.

They're not clueless. What they're doing is accumulating as much wealth and territory as possible before they're driven out. They don't give a damn about us, and every day Jeb is in the race makes that more clear.

grrr.....my once or so a week rant

This might just happen.

Only in an alternate universe where Obama cares more about other Democrats than he does about himself.

I see another 1980 election eve coming. By 9PM, CBS calls the election for Trump. Dems on suicide watch. A glorious victory for patriots and and a stunning defeat for the GOPe.

Back that up please.

Trump is polling at approximately 30% (depending on the poll). Trump is polling far above any of the other candidates, but collectively all of the other candidates plus undecided are polling at 70%. That means 70% do not support Trump.

As other candidates drop out, their supporters will switch to someone else. If that someone else is Trump, then Trump will win the nomination. If that someone else is not Trump, then Trump will lose.

You know you’re of a certain age when “There’s something happening here... “ makes you immediately think of only one thing...”What it is ain’t exactly clear.”
