Dr. Ben Carson has joined the growing chorus of outrage over Russian President Vladimir Putin's military muscle flexing, telling Newsmax TV a no-fly zone should be created along the Turkish border.
A sophisticated missile defense system should also be put in place to keep Russia's fighter jets in check, according to Carson, a retired pediatric neurosurgeon seeking the 2016 GOP presidential nomination.
"Vladimir Putin has expansionist ideas. He wants to really re-establish a worldwide Soviet influence," Carson told Newsmax TV's Steve Malzberg in an interview aired Thursday.
"He was very unhappy with the dissolution [of the Soviet Union]. Now he's looking for weakness. What we need to do is demonstrate that there is no weakness there."
And that means putting the kibosh on Russia's bullying of surrounding nations, he believes.
"We need to stand our ground with the airspace. I would establish a no-fly zone along the border with Turkey, in no way would I back off," Carson said.

In a time when it took months to circumnavigate the world, our Founders warned against foreign entanglements. I support that premise. That does not address a time when it takes ninety minutes to circumnavigate the planet.

Strategically we pay attention to hot spots around the world because if we didn’t, we would soon have China and Russia on our doorstep. China is right now making inroads into South America. Russia and China are doing the same thing in the Middle-East and Africa. China is expanding it’s outreach further into the Southern Asian Pacific.
We can’t simply pull our troops and Navy home and make happy talk while China and Russia divvy up the planet.

If one of our Founding Fathers could differ with the ‘no foreign entanglements’ doctrine, I don’t think I’m in danger of insulting them by agreeing with him in today’s world.

Turkey is part of NATO. We have a treaty obligation here. This is vastly different then establishing a NO FLY zone over Syria as Clinton/Mccain/ etc want.

And I don’t see how a Treaty with a country run by a Muslim is valid to begin with since their faith demands they lie to infidels and enter into treaties with the intent of breaking them when it is to their advantage to do so. A valid treaty requires good faith by all parties to it. Obviously one cannot enter into a treaty in good faith when a treaty is nothing but a means to a Taqquya end.
But then FR is filled with all manner of support for leftist crap related to this. In the last month alone we see support for the GOPe candidates that want to attack Russia, We see support for Barry’s continued arming of terrorists as long as a unicorn promises they will be used against Russia/Syria only; and we see the words of the founders warning against foreign entanglements openly called ‘Nonsense’.
So I am not really surprised to see anyone rooting for apocalypse to be honest. Lots of free-range idiocy to be found.
