The Media's Latest Phony Attack on Ben Carson
Townhall.com ^ | October 9, 2015 | David Limbaugh

Posted on 10/09/2015 8:41:15 AM PDT by Kaslin

How about the next time the mainstream media decide to fabricate a controversy against a conservative presidential candidate, they choose something less laughable?

The media's latest faux gasp concerns Dr. Ben Carson's comments about the Oregon school shooting. When I first watched news reports on it, I didn't immediately grasp the reason for the fuss, not having the artificial sensibilities of the MSM.

Asked what he would do in a similar situation as the victims, Carson said: "I would ask everybody to attack the gunman because he can only shoot one of us at a time. That way, we don't all wind up dead." Not only did he not answer the way the media wanted but also he chuckled upon concluding his answer.

No one in his right mind would interpret Carson's uncomfortable giggle as a statement that he was laughing at the victims or is indifferent to their fate. Do I have to mention that he dedicated four decades to saving children's lives? Yeah, I thought so.

At the suggestion that he appeared tone-deaf and seemed callous, Carson said, "I'm laughing at them and their silliness," meaning the reporters asking him questions.

It rankles the media when candidates don't immediately cower when accused of this or that sin. Carson is particularly annoying to them, not only because he refuses to back down but also because he has the audacity, in their view, to espouse conservative views despite being African-American. Surely, we can all understand their frustration when blacks stray from the left's prescribed way of thinking.

Carson was not judging the victims; that doesn't even make sense. Almost everyone seriously laments the tragedy, and Carson, as a strong Christian, doubtlessly admires those courageous victims who identified themselves as Christians while knowing it would seal their fate.

Rather, Carson said he wanted to "plant the seed in people's minds so that if this happens again, you know, they don't all get killed."

When pressed about his response, Carson used the opportunity once again to criticize our stifling politically correct culture. He said: "We live in a culture now where people decide that everything you say -- 'we need to set up battle lines' and 'we need to get on this side of it or that side of it' rather than collectively trying to figure out how we solve the problem. It's sort of an immature attitude, but it seems to be something that's rampant in America today."

He is correct. In the first place, we wouldn't even be having this discussion if President Obama hadn't exploited the massacre to rail against guns, gun owners and those dastardly right-wingers who cling to the Second Amendment right to bear arms. If Obama and the left weren't so hellbent on confiscating the weapons of law-abiding Americans, we could spend more time grieving, offering our prayers and later -- after the dust has settled -- discussing these tragedies and possible solutions.

When interviewers showed an interest in Carson's ideas instead of trying to entrap him, it was obvious that he had given this serious thought, as he suggested that we need to study the lives of all the people who've carried out a mass shooting. He said we might empower psychiatrists and psychologists "to take the appropriate interventional steps." He would also seek a "mechanism" to keep weapons away from people whom mental health professionals have identified as dangerous, stressing, however, that "we cannot do anything that compromises the Second Amendment." Finally, he expressed his support for armed guards and armed teachers in schools, if appropriate.

Refreshingly, Carson again refuses to back down from the media's onslaught and even doubles down -- saying his experience in extracting bullets from victims has reinforced his conviction in the wisdom of the Second Amendment.

There is no way reasonable people would conclude that Carson was impugning the shooting victims. It's clear he was offering his ideas, in hindsight, on how people might handle such situations in the future.

The same media that castigated Carson for offering constructive ideas on this problem gave President Obama a total pass for lurching to his lectern to rail against guns and gun control opponents. Never once did they criticize him for his insensitivity and callousness, and he wasn't even responding to a question. He planned -- no, premeditated -- his stunningly inappropriate remarks and all but ignored the nation's and community's grief, choosing instead to lash out in anger at people who won't surrender to his demands.

I can confidently say that people are increasingly disgusted with the media's warped and biased perspective and their double standard to destroy conservatives and shelter liberals. Just consider the absurdity of the media's trying to turn this remarkably fine man into an ogre. Ben Carson's popularity increases in direct proportion to his refusal to cower in the face of such attacks and his resolve to stand on principle. This is one of the many reasons so-called outsiders are doing so well in the polls and will continue to. People have had enough of this nonsense.

Conservatives.

You are going to see a LOT of this. The DC Media/Political/Business machine is going to do all it can to formulate strife in the Conservative movement. They were successful in 2008 and 2012 electing their GOPE candidates of choice by factionalizing the Conservatives into competing camps. Do not fall for it in 2016.

Keep your fire on the Machine, not each other. The GOPe candidates are our enemies. They are our targets.

Dr. Carson shows exceptional fortitude, rectitude, and independence in swimming against stream of leftist-inspired PC. This is especially noteworthy in view of the conditioning by the Demonrats and the left (excuse the redundancy) to keep black Americans on the lib political plantation.

Why do we continue to call it “the mainstream media” All the alphabet stations, CNN, et al, are more than obviously biased and leftist. They circle and try to destroy any conservative in their paths because of their humanist beliefs. Mainstream USA should wake up and not even turn those channels on and start realizing middle America is displeasing to the humanists/atheists/leftists and needs to be destroyed.

The liberal strategy - cower on the floor and crawl when ordered to do so - is much more politically correct. Besides, maybe the psychopathic mass murder will eventually run out of bullets.

Liberals are glad no one else was armed, because then innocent people might have been caught in the middle of a Wild West shootout.

Perhaps if he’d used the phrase, “Let’s roll”, they’d have comprehended what he was saying. And by ‘they’ I mean the public - the media knows damn well what he meant, and are just twisting it.

I don’t, to me they are The Ministry Of Propaganda.

There’s nothing “mainstream” about them.

Once the stupid masses understand that the media is never for the truth—but to try and control the “perceptions” (emotions) of the masses.....it is over for them. People will be out of Plato’s Cave.

I am hoping that the MSM’s evil Marxist methodology is understood for what it is. As Drudge noted recently-—the MSM (a few sodomite elites) have a totalitarian control of MOST perceptions in media, in public school curricula (Common Core), etc. so ONLY their sick, vile worldview is embedded into the masses. They target people and try to destroy them like they have for 20 years with Drudge. He claims the Supreme Court justice just told him they are about to shut his website down (through the “Justice” system, LOL). (The MSM have shut down free speech for 80 years and now it will be totally shut down).

It is time to Wake-Up and turn off the “dog and pony” show——and follow Truth/God only. Truth/God is the only thing which will set us Free again and it is banned from the MSM and public schools and it is ALL unconstitutional.

Only ONE worldview led to the Mind of Newton and the Age of Reason and the US Constitution-—it is the Christian Worldview of “Justice” (Virtue) and Individualism—that we are all our own masters with individual dignity and worth that is UNALIENABLE and predates government. Our Natural Rights come only from God——and WE the people need to RECLAIM our Natural Rights and our children’s minds from the Leviathan (devil—materialism/humanism/technocracy). Return Virtue to everything we do and think.

We need to humanize our children (have human interaction—not artificial screens control emotions.) They need to habituate VIRTUE-—because Vice only creates addicts and slaves. We need the Natural Family back—both mother and father role models, so children are Rational, understand natural instincts and self and individulistic-—are emotionally healthy-—and can withstand the onslaught that Life throws at them (the extreme peer pressure of mass conformity). They need God’s Grace-—to help them through this evil world which means fighting the mass psychology used in the MSM and public schools daily. Unplug the kids——have them read true history-—the Classics and the Bible-—so they can think in abstract, logical ways and be Wise. Wisdom is discerning Good and Evil (Cicero).

The MSM and public schools blur Good and Evil and destroy Wisdom intentionally and is actually flipping Good and Evil in the minds of children-—to collapse civil society.

No ethic system other than Christianity created the Age of Wisdom and greatest freedom and creativity in history, along with the greatest Justice System and Christian military. We need to bring BACK our God-Given Natural Rights, American Justice System, from the Satanists and sodomites. Bring back REASON and Virtue. Without either—you can never have a “Justice” system.

Dr. Carson is a remarkable man. He’s terribly wrong about illegal aliens, though. I cannot support anyone unwilling to uphold the rule of law.
If we are foolish enough to abandon the rule of law and surrender the country to illegal aliens and their employers, nothing else matters.

He actually is correct. In that classroom, 20-30 people rushing the shooter at once gets someone shot, but overwhelms the guy’s ability to aim and shoot.

With a subdued group he was able to put a gun to a head...a sure kill almost always.

With bullets launched while being rushed by a crowd, some are going to get hurt. But the location of the wound is far less likely to be lethal than is a bullet to the head from a few inches away.

"I’m liking him more and more everyday. He’s not backing down either."

Exactly. He's getting the libtard anti-gun MSM in an uproar, knowing that most Americans agree with him. Free publicity. Brilliant.

I like him too, although I have no plans to vote for him because I believe he would make an excellent Secretary of Health and Human Services. Should he be the nominee, I will of course vote for him

The recent case of the train in France must be giving the libtard MSM severe cognitive dissonance.

It’s a fissure we can load with demo and blow sky-high.

....she said....”Carson is know for saying cruel and crazy things....he mentioned the Holocaust, and you know you’re not supposed to mention the Holocaust (we’re not??!)....talking about Nazi Germany is NEVER a good idea...we know there that goes....a part of the base thinks that 0bola is out to grab their guns, and we know that’s just not true”....
