Drive-By Narrative: Trump to Drop Out When He Falls in the Polls
Rush Limbaugh.com ^ | October 5, 2015 | Rush Limbaugh

RUSH: The Drive-By Media's got it in its head that it's over, Trump's finished, and he's gonna drop out at some point. Even though he's still leading in every poll, they've assumed a position here that there is an inevitability to Trump dropping out. It's just gonna happen. They thought it would happen by now. They've tried to make it happen by now and before today, but it hasn't. So they're just assuming that it hasn't happened, and that has become the narrative surrounding the Trump campaign. In fact, they're even getting Trump to talk about it.

You know, Trump says (imitating Trump), "Hey, look, you know, if I do get out of this, you know what's gonna happen? The entire Republican presidential campaign is going to collapse." The people that write about this are incredulous. I think it's at Politico or New York Times, I'm not sure which, they just can't believe the guy's ego. Trump said if he gets out -- and this just feeds the monster. I think he's toying with them. If he gets out, you know what's gonna happen? The entire Republican campaign is going to implode. There won't be one. The excitement will vanish. There won't be any interest in it. There won't be any reason for anybody to continue following it. There will be a couple of TV networks that fold because with Trump removing himself from the campaign, their ratings will go south so far that nobody will be watching some of these networks. So he's tweaking them in his own way, given their new narrative that it's inevitable that he is going to drop out.

Although I was initially a Walker Cruz guy but Ive come to think Trump MAY be the only one that can truly turn this country around. He will need allies and so far all he has done is burn bridges. If Trump fails it will be because of Trump...none of the others have touched him.

You don't know what you're talking about. You're only fooling yourself. He hasn't burned any bridges. All those assholes that berate him are the ones burning bridges.

He may forgive but he doesn't forget.

If and when he wins they'll all come crawling.

Simple—Rig the polls so Trump scores low—5% t0 2% This shouldn’t be hard for the MSM or the GOPe. He gets lower, is sent to the small debate—made to look like a Fool on Saturday Night Live. He will drop out. But, the rigged game may well blow up in the faces of the Powerful Elites that run things.

What Trump was really saying was that if he were doing as poorly as Bush, Paul, Jindal, et al, he would drop out...and so should they.

“Trump wins and we have at least 8 years of this media bashing 24-7...so guess we better develop tough skin now...LOL....”

Unlike George W. “McFly” Bush, Trump won’t just “Aw gee, Biff” his way through those 8 years.

Isn’t it possible that the GOPe is already trying that? We don’t really know.

Interesting to think that if they are trying to rig the polls, Trump is STILL leading.

Journ-O-List hard at work saying Palin’s remark about crosshairs caused a mass shooting, Fia-RINO won the debate, Carson is disqualified for saying a Muslim shouldn’t be president, McCarthy is disqualified for saying he hurt Clinton’s poll numbers, and now this.

The liberal media hard at work reporting once again on the fake, made-up stories no one cares about.

Everyone who heard Trump already knew that, but someone on Journ-O-List clearly got the bright idea to try to spin it as Trump being a risky choice because he might randomly drop out in the middle of the race like Perot did. Anything to try to scare some voters off of backing him.

Exactly,....that’s what started to frustrate me so much about Bush, and what turned me against him....his bunbling fool image and his complete lack of a defense...or a verbal comeback..ever....in his tenure as president..and to the left, that equated with weakness and incompetence to them. I grew to have real contempt for him...he lacked that Reaganesque ability to defend himself...and I despised him for that....along with his policies and general ineffectiveness...and the fact that he GAVE US obama on a silver platter due to his complete lack of coattails.

Hey Ethyl, What’s the weather like?

Weeelll, it’s a beautiful day out. Has been for almost four months, but they keep predicting rain that never materializes.

What’s the forecast for tomorrow? Same as last week and yesterday, more rain...

Trump is getting better every day and his rallies are getting better and the crowds are huge and fired up

I've followed Trump fairly close since he emerged and I would say your statement is VERY accurate.

THe closer you look at Trump the more you realize that he IS putting on a show.. but it is for the benefit of ACCOMPLISHING his GREATER goal of Making America Great Again.

He seems to be using the SAME methodology he used for 12 consecutive years to keep himself in the upper tier of ratings on the NBC Network with his "Apprentice" show.

I've come to realize that Trump is "The Man with the PLAN"

This is the second time Rush has spoken on this matter.

He misinterpreted it from the start and he’s still getting it wrong.

Trump made reference to having 1-3% in the polls and if he had that low of support he would drop out...

It was a jab at those bitter-clingers at the kids table hanging on when they have absolutely no chance of getting the nomination.

Rush missed the context of Trumps remarks and has drawn incorrect conclusions from them.
