I agree, our only interest in the ME should be protecting Israel and the only refugees we should help are the Christians that are being persecuted.

Things do look apocalyptic in the setup. Obama in his last few months in office is clearly understood to be a passing opportunity for the enemies of the U.S., while an orchestrated economic crisis for the U.S. Dollar looms with the Chinese Yuan possibly becoming a world reserve currency soon, thanks to the BRICKS agreements, and now the Middle East is being prepared for possibly some drastic changes which will take advantage of our hasty retreat. And thanks to obamas New Start we have a poorly verified strategic nuclear agreement with Russia that also cements tactical nuclear superiority to the Russians.
Diversions from a move by the NORKs, and/or Chinese against Taiwan would give all our enemies a mutual opportunity to their local pursuits as well as defeating the over stretched US military, and removing it as a world power, unless we went nuclear...if Obama would initiate that...or not.

The videos you see of tanks in action in Syria are tanks rolling through cities, quickly taking pot shots, and quickly moving off. What you don’t see is infantry. You can hold ground without infantry.
Syria is as much as 74% Sunni. Trust that Assad (an Alewite) populated his officer corp with Shiites and Alewites (Shia sect). After all, Assad wouldn’t want a disgruntled Sunni pilot dropping a bomb on his palace. His infantry was probably reflects the society at large (majority Sunni) and have long since gone to fight with the rebels.
Assad is never going to take back control without infantry.
You really think Russia has 170 ready for action long range bombers? Their economy is many times worse than ours. They can’t even put down a bankrupt Ukraine right on their doorstep.
