The misconception is that Non-profit is charity. It is a tax exempt status. Everyone gets paid.

I’ll be the odd man out because I almost went to work for Samaritans Purse. I love the organization.

The Bible says that church leaders are to be “above reproach”. He is worth every penny of it but I’m not sure Dr Furman would agree with what it says about him. And yes, I knew of Dr Furman (or Lowell and Janie anyway).

“Ask them how much the priests of Baal at Planned Parenthood make per year.”

One should rather pray that God will work with Rev. Graham as He will, and guide him to always act in accordance with His will, regardless of what we might think is His will.

He’s doen farm ore than some 80 million dollar baseball players have done- no one bats an eyelash about ball players making 10’s of millions, but let an honest hard working Christian man who’s sole desire is helping those who can’t help themselves make over $100,000 and the left has an aneurism while screaming bloody murder

When one feels led to give by God he still needs to give wisely. There are many charitable organizations and some do more with lower overhead than others which are ponderous and bureaucratic. Of course some of the best like St. Jude have lots of overhead to support their yearly work which requires its own bureaucracy to...

1. Raise money

2. Keep an accounting

3. Make spending/funding and scientific research decisions involving a huge staff.

Sorry, but you sound like Liberal.

I hope you repent of your pride.

Amen. His people were on the ground in Nepal when that earthquake happened and he has a few quick-reaction groups that fly plane-loads of supplies and medicines to all the trouble spots where Christians have been murdered by muslims. Samaritan’s Purse is on top of logistics and is always in the middle of danger situations, bringing the love of Christ and needed supplies.

Yeah, Solomon and King David were both very greedy people- infact, all of God’s appointed kings were really greedy- that’s why God kept blessing them I guess

[[Jesus added value and didn’t have a home.]]

King David added value and had many palaces and probably several summer homes and a vast kingdom- What’s your point?

We’re he a king, I guess you’d have a point, but he is not, so you don’t.

Ted Cruz makes $174,000 as a U.S. Senator.

That's about as much a true conservative should ask from the public purse.

God will judge Graham, not you or me. But my opinion is that a “reverend” taking nearly a million a year from a religious based, charitable non-profit is unethical, sinful and a rather clear indication of covetessness (which is idolarty).

I pray that Graham will repent of his sin.

Maybe instead of worrying about Grahams APPARENT sins,
you should be more concerned with your own, obviously more abundant.

His responsibilities are far greater than a military leader, as he is tasked with pointing men to the truth that will save their souls, not merely their physical lives.

And he does a good job saving those physical lives, too. See: Sudan, Nepal, etc.

I guess Jesus was a “liberal” in your book as he said “you cannot serve God and mammon”.

You must also think the Apos tle Paul was a “liberal” as he said a pastor must “not be greedy for money” (1 Timothy 3:3) and repeated it in Titus 1:7:

“For a bishop must be blameless, as a steward of God, not self-willed, not quick-tempered, not given to wine, not violent, not greedy for money,”

As I said, it would be fine for Graham to earn $880,000 or $880,000,000 from a for profit (though God would expect him to be generous with that). But taking it from a “non-profit” is a disgrace and no Christian should tolerate it.

This is obviously a hit piece. He has broken no law, done nothing unethical or immoral. This is media smear job.

You are correct sir. A deliberate hit piece from the first word in the title.

Yes, it is a sin for me to expect a “man of God” to obey the clear teaching of Scripture. Pretty much par for the course in what passes of “Christianity” these days.

thanks....I did some calculations:

Samaritan's Purse donations: $425,000,000
source: http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=4423#.Vdk9MflViko

Franklin Graham's salary from SP: $622,000

Simple math:

0.15% of donations to SP go to his salary.

To put it another way: If you RAN A BUSINESS with revenues totaling $100,000 would you take a salary of $150.00? Because in comparative terms, that is what Franklin Graham is doing.

Okay, let's do the rest of his income.

Billy Graham Evangelistic Association donations: $85,000,000

Source: http://www.charitynavigator.org/index.cfm?bay=search.summary&orgid=3367#.Vdk-ovlViko

Graham's salary from BGEA: $258,000

Simple math:

0.30% of donations to BGEA go to his salary.

To put it another way: If you RAN A BUSINESS with revenues totaling $100,000 would you take a salary of $300.00? Because in comparative terms, that is what Franklin Graham is doing.

These hit pieces against a good man of God make me sick.

Meanwhile, clowns like Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton and Joel Osteen and the rest are given respect, praise, and adulation by many in the media.

lol whatever- I guess you missed the point- You’re going on and on about ‘starving kids’ while ‘someone has abundance (by the way, how much do you make while there are ‘starving kids’ around the globe? No need to answer- just something to chew on)- Yet Kind David, Solomon etc were all very rich while ‘starving kids’ were in abundance then just like they are today- Yet God still called David a man after His own heart

The issue isn’t whether or not someone is a king, the issue you are bringing up is just how much someone should make, whiel there are ‘starving kids’ In the world, before they become ‘unGodly’ apparently

Franklin Graham has massive responsibilities in his duties in SP- He is I n constant demand, his time is not his own- and he has sacrificed his life and desires to serve God, and you can bet that a good portion of that money goes to meeting his needs financially while on the road and traveling the world spreading the gospel-

You and I would shrink like wilted flowers under the pressures He has to endure- yet you sit there and criticize him for earning a living? Really?
