Billionaire businessman Donald Trump offered kids helicopter rides in a show of wealth as he bragged Saturday that he is willing to spend $1 billion on his presidential campaign.
"I'm turning down so much money," Trump said at a press conference kicking off his weekend trip to Iowa to visit the State Fair, with his black helicopter emblazoned with "Trump" and children standing in the background.
Trump touted turning down a $5 million donation offer this week before saying he would spend $1 billion on his 2016 Republican presidential bid "if I had to."
"Nobody else would do the job that I will do," Trump said, mentioning jobs, the military, care for veterans and the "catastrophe" of ObamaCare, which he said he would get rid of.

I have to concede that point. The only thing better than a billboard is a noisy billboard--especially one everyone is talking about.
The Republican Party is worthless. They need to be hurt.

Trump is not only a leader, he’s a master showman. he eats the media up.
Just realize and look at the pile of stinking dog doo we now have sitting in the big chair. It is time we put them back in the mental facility they all escaped from. How bad is trump really? remember the republicans after we gave them victory, a majority, have done NOTHING they said they would do! Whether he’s a republican a conservative or a conservative democrate he hits a chord with every frustrated lied to American
Love love love your reply to the guy who was dissing Trump. Wish FR had like buttons! You stated exActly how I too feel about those issues that Trump is supposedly not trustworthy on.
Perry never had built a multi-billion dollar business empire either. Nor did he speak truth to power, condemning the incompetence of both parties.
Perry’s poll position in another cycle is irrelevant to this one.
Rick Perry was an elected democrat in Texas for years before he became republican. He suported Algore in 1988 primaries. Now he runs around calling himself a “Reagan republican”. The entire time Reagan was the president Rick Perry was a democrat. Would you support Rick Perry? Donald Trump has never held elective office as a democrat or anything else. Whatever Donald Trump’s political views were a few years back, when he was a private citizen, I could care less. He didn’t vote on any liberal bills to destroy the country. He is running as a republican and he’s pro-life, pro-2nd amendment, pro-family, and says the Bible is his favorite book. He’s also one of the most successsful businessmen in the world. Conservatives, liberals, they’re all liars. Nothing changes year after year and it matters not what political persuasion some professes to be. Ted Cruz is my personal favorite. I consider him the only real conservative in the race. If not Cruz, I would vote for Trump. I’m not alone.
I’d add that if the people want abortion gone badly enough, the presumptive method for doing that (a constitutional amendment) doesn’t involve the President at ALL.
SOME motion to the good is better than NO motion.
I’ve also not seen Trump jump down conservatives’ throats for conservative ideas, even where he differs in view, like he jumps down liberals’ throats for theirs. Seems to me he has a respect. If Trump makes room for conservatives to act, that is vastly better than the status quo.
right William, my political science(a liberal prof) teacher said many times “that is how to win elections”. by being one of the folks. i watched and was amazed at the political savvy on display. gonna be tough to take him down unless he implodes somehow. he’s putting on a clinic imo.
it was just a few years ago obami was eating dogs and touting he’d side with the muslims should the political winds change. good grief!! kids on that copter was a beautiful site.
Too bad. There are still some folks here who haven't plunged head-over-heels into schoolgirl love for Trump. And you're right, once an individual submits to a cult of personality, it's hard to reach them with reason. But we keep trying, because we're all conservatives and we are better than that. We're supposed to be thinking people.
At the end of July Trump told "Morning Joe" that he is pretty much a Democrat. If you're annoyed by hearing the truth about him, maybe it's your reasoning brain trying to get your attention.
If the NYT does a positive article on Trump, it's "ignorance" not to read it. But if New Yorker magazine does a negative article, it's just a rag with no credibility ( as I was just told on another thread).
You’d love to shut us up, wouldn’t you?
So you don’t want social issues involved in the campaign?
From the guy who said he would vote for Anthony Weiner if he became “suddenly conservative’, LOL.
